buckbuster11
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Usually at least a month ahead of time if I can. Mid-August is when I like to start putting them in.
tedicast
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? I have a few up already, and some that I need to get up real soon. Hard to get motivated to go hang stands in this nasty, hot and humid weather.
Tominator
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? About 5 minutes before I hunt. I use a climber.
WIwhitetailhunter
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Some of the ladder stands are still up from last season. I'll just have to go back out a week or two before season starts and tighten the straps that I loosened at the end of last season. The strap-on stands will probably go up in the next month. And the climber will go up the same day I plan on using it.
VTbowman
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Mine were set up about 5 years ago. However I do on the tree maintenance and inspections around August time frame, trim lanes, and tweek set ups then too. This year we will be erecting a few ground blinds as well. I feel that mid summer is good since everything you need to trim is basically done growing by then, and the deer will still have plenty of time to get use to any changes you have made to there living and dinning rooms.. Strut10
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? A lot of my ladders stay up year 'round. I'll hang the stands a couple weeks before season.
dogdoc
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? I have several permenant stands but I will put my hang on stands up in a couple of weeks. I will also clear some shooting lanes. That will give the deer 2 months to get use to the changes. todd

SaskMan
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Last yr I set mine up the day I shot my buck. This year I'm planning on being done by the end of July. Going to set out 4 hang ons, maybe build a permanent or 2. Once August is done I run out of time for setting stands up. Rhino
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? So far I have 8 hang on stands and 1 ladder set up, lanes trimmed and ready to hunt. All except one are mainly for bowhunting though. Just 6 more hang on stands and 1 ladder to go. I hope I have my hang on stands and ladders set up before the end of August. I'll keep my climbers handy for setting up on fresh sign during the season. Most of the month of September I'm on a tractor getting our food plots prepared and planted on the weekends so I need to have my hang on and ladder stands ready to go before Labor Day weekend. Guest MattA311
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? I put mine up the day before I hunt out of them... never had a problem yet.. I see tons of deer. I never believed it made that much differnce as long as your stands aren't huge... ladders may be more of a problem though. iron buck
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Mine go up with me every morning (or eve). Each hunt is fresh. I stay very mobile to stay on deer.

Guest tyshe17
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? I already have half of mine set up for this year (not to mention the ones the land owners have out on fields...I will be setting the rest up in the next two weeks. I also will be putting out a bag or two of corn on each property i hunt to keep them in the area, and freshening salt licks one last time. too_pointer
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? Check your regs if your hunting public land. Here in Mi. there are dates when you can legally put it up and remove it. You also need your name and address visible from the ground on your stands too_
preacherman
Re: When do you set up your Treestands? I usually climb in a climber, so I don't set up until season starts and after the scouting is over.
