Ohiobucks
We just moved into a new house last February. I "temporarily" put my gun safe in the basement, without a dehumidifier. I felt like shooting my ML last night, so I went to get it. The thing is rusted tight. Man, I was sick. Not a top shelf gun, it is a Traditions Buck Hunter Pro inline with a 201 conversion kit. Is there anything I can do? Should I take it to a gunsmith?
ZooBear
Re: Help, please, I messed up......... How bad is it? It might cost less to replace it than fix it. What does the bore look like?
Ohiobucks
Re: Help, please, I messed up......... Can't see the bore cause the action is rusted shut. I haven't banged on it to jar it loose yet, though.
lil hunter
Re: Help, please, I messed up......... maybe try some penitrating oil. Other than that I don't really know what might help.
hangunnr
Re: Help, please, I messed up......... SOAK the gun down with a moisture displacing penetrating oil such as Kroil. Remove the barreled action from the stock first. Give the outside of the gun as much as it will hold and fill the barrel. Let it sit for a couple days then try to get everything apart. You may be able to salvage it. hangunnr
