Guest Broncho10
Here are some good flats that some buddies and I have caught this summer noodling. The two in one picture weighed 33 and 45 pounds, they came out of a lake in Oklahoma, the other one weighed 31 pounds and came out of the Cimarron river. Washi
Re: Some good flats (noodling) Nice fish. Here in Missouri this is the first year it has been legal and my brother and dad went. They got a 14. 24 and 36 pounder. One even bigger one would not cooperate. The biggest fish I have ever seen in person was a 64 pound blue cat. Jeramie
Re: Some good flats (noodling) Ahhh, Noodlin isnt bad. A lot of people do it in Oklahoma. Its actually a LOT of fun. Honestly there is some danger of grabbing a snake or beaver but I personally have never heard anyone say its happend to them. Its easy to grab out small cats (6-8lbs). Its a load of fun. Btw, nice cats man...
Guest Andrea
Re: Some good flats (noodling) Nice cats. But no thanks, I prefer to catch mine with a rod and reel. You gotta have some kinda nerve to do that. Guess I'm just a scaredy-cat.

Guest Broncho10
Re: Some good flats (noodling) Thank you guys for all the compliments. Noodling really isn't all that bad once you get in there and do it. For me, it is an adrenalin rush and a lot of fun. It doesn't get you going quite like deer hunting does, but it sure is a good way to spend some time outdoors while it's hot and hunting season is off. [ QUOTE ] So are you arms all scrached up? [/ QUOTE ] My arms didn't get to scratched up, I was wearing some ropin gloves. They help protect your hands and the teeth on the fish stick to them like velcro. I got a little scratched up but not too bad. A buddy of mine got a hold of a monster earlier this year and it took almost all his hide off his right hand. Bad thing about the whole deal is he lost the fish. I always try to wear gloves when I go, if not a big one will scare you up pretty bad. [ QUOTE ] them are some nice fish there. How'd they taste? [/ QUOTE ]BTW, you guys about blinded me, ya'll are WHITE.lol. [/ QUOTE ] They taste great, in my opinion flathead is some of the best fish to eat as long as you cut the red meat off of them. [ QUOTE ] BTW, you guys about blinded me, ya'll are WHITE.lol. [/ QUOTE ] Hahaha...I was pretty white, the ol' torso hadn't seen much sun up to that point. I've been to the lake the last 3 weekends so I am a little more barrible to look at now.
