3 Blade Muzzys VS 4-Blade

This might have been in here already. I have been using Muzzy 3-Blade 100gr for a few years now. I ordered some 4-Blade from cabelas yesterday.

I was wondernig if there are any Muzzy shooters out there who use the 4-blade and is the 4-blade better or the same as the 3-blade. I particularly would like to hear from the guys that shot the 3-blade before and then switched to the 4-blade. I really don't want to here from the non-muzzy shooters alright wink.gif

although I havent shoot the 4 blade I do shoot the 3. My boss has shot every muzzy out there, and he says on game performance isnt much if any difference, but the 4 blade fly better on an improperly tuned bow and dont plane as much

I was shooting the 3 tried 4 and switched back to 3. Seemed I had more noise and planing with the 4. I'm using 75gr 3 the 4 was 90gr I believe.

But I'm interested to hear others' experience with the 4 blade.

I went from 3 bladed 125s to 4 bladed 100s last year and don't plan on changing anytime soon. The 100s fly just like my field tips and blew there everything I shot last year. Hoping to do the same again this year smile.gif

My groups were tighter and I could shoot the better groups every time I shot. The 4 bladed 100s are my choice for a long time to come now.

Re: 3 Blade Muzzys VS 4-Blade

Ahhhhhh, now here is a topic for me.....

I shot the 3-bladed 100gr first...loved them in fact.....but being a sucker, I have to try the newest stuff out there, so when the 4-blade Muzzy's came out.....I just had to buy me some.....I have never looked back....

They group better, and they also fly more consistantly with your field tips.........3 bladed heads tend to plane a little more......the 4's don't....so you'll find your self maybe even extending your range....

And if that doesn't sell you on them, the hole they leave behind will.........the diameter of the head is smaller, but you now have 4 cutting surfaces......the hole left is nothing but awesome, and I have had pass-thru's on every big-game animal I have shot with them (58-60 lb draw)

You need any tips or tricks on tuning them, give me a shout.....

That is the ticket right there! The first deer I shot with a bow was a doe at 14 yards. I was shooting a 58 pound draw weight bow and a real light carbon arrow shooting only about 240 FPS. With only about 47ish foot-pounds of KE, that 4-blade Muzzy destroyed her shoulders. I yanked the shot forward a bit, but for that light of a setup, it penetrated all but about 8". All I know is both the shoulders didn't have much good meat left. wink.gif "Bad to the bone" is an understatement. grin.gif I'd sure like to see what kind of damage it does this year with my Switchback kicking about 65-68 foot-pounds of KE. cool.gif

Figures!!! I just bought a new 6 pack of the 3 blade 125's, cause I was down to 3 good ones. Now I find out the 4 blade are better and I have 9 good 3 blades!!!! shocked.gifgrin.gif Well, I hate to waste $$,so it might be awahile before I use them up. But next pack of broadheads I buy will be Muzzy 4 blades! Thanks for the report folks!!!

P.S. I think I just always thought the bigger cutting diameter of the 3 blade 125's would do more damage.

RN, it is not a waste of money.....the 3-blades are hard to beat.....it's just you may have liked the 4-bladed ones a little better.......if it's with a Muzzy, it's going down....

Didn't mean buying the 3 blades were a waste of money.................it would only be a waste to NOT USE them!!!!! shocked.gif

I have been shooting MUZZY for over 8 yrs and am a DEDICATED Muzzy shooter. Can;t buy a better broadhead if you ask me.

But now that I know the 4 blades work a little better, I'll have to wait til I use up the 3-blades!!!!! MUZZY's are just too good to let sit on your workbench!!!!! grin.gif

On a side note: When they say BAD TO THE BONE, they aren;t kidding!!!!

I know a guy who hit a doe in the back of the head(deer was quartering away, looking over it's right shoulder). THe muzzy completely penetrated the back of the skull behind the right ear, thru the head and was sticking out of the left eye socket!!!!!! shocked.gifshocked.gifshocked.gif You could see the trocar pt. and about 1/4 in of the blades sticking out of the eyeball!!!!!! Talk about penetration- wouldn't have believed it if I hadn;t seen it myself!!!! cool.gifcool.gif
