hutchies
Well boys I delayed telling you all about this till I went to the reputable local pro shop. The serv where the string meets the length module has frayed out. Last time I shot which was about a week and a half ago I noticed my groups kept getting bigger. I took the bow in the house and looked it over and noticed it. Anyway the local shop said that it looks like either a bad cam or cam bushing causing misalignment. I hope they have good customer service. Anyway I will attach some pics so you can see what I mean. This bow has about 100 arrows thru it and was only a month old yesterday. Just make sure you filled out the warrenty card! They will fix it for free! I must have shot about 300-500 arrows through mine so far! I just keep getting better! I cant shoot broadheads that much because I am shaving the fletchings off! Keep me informed please! Thanks! BTW, I was kidding about the hair! LOL! AaronS
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix I had the same problem when I first bought my Hoyt Redline Striker. I think on my bow it was just poor engineering more than anything, as the string hits the bottom of the "V" in the limb. After getting the end of the string reserved, I double served it, and it has been good to go for several years. Hopefully you can get your problem resolved and get back to your tight groups. hutchies
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix Here is the jist of what Parker told me. I talked to Johnny at Parker. I told him that it had not cut any of the cable yet it simply cut and frayed the serve. He said that first off Parker will do whatever it takes to make me happy and he said it is usual for the serving to come loose in that area and normally if it does come loose it is between the first 50-100 shots. He told me to have it reserved because alot of time the machine does not wrap the serving as tight as someone doing it by hand and that if this happened again he would have me ship the bow back and they would put a new cam on it or whatever it takes. buckee
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix Sounds good. Just get it re-served and keep a close eye on it. I hope it gets you through the season OK.
Guest tyshe17
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix I have had the same thing happen on my Phoenix...the new buss cable is wearing too, but it shoots great. Also the loss of accuracy could be due to your buss cable stretching and your string coming off your top wheel wrong. This can be corrected by adding some twist to your buss cable to pull everything back in line. Good luck!
artisticwhitetails
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix I would pay very close attention to that string! I had a bowtech do that several years back after a pro shop replaced the string. I noticed the wear and took it back where they replaced the string again. 5 shots later I was in the emergency room with my forearm swelled the size of a football, the bow pretty much exploded at full draw. Turns out when they put the string on they got the cam out of wack and it was cutting into the string. Hutchies, I would not shoot that thing untill the shop proves to me it was fixed. tyshe17 sounds as if he's taking a chance also.
hutchies
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix I will have the local pro shop re-serv it today and see what he thinks about the problem. By the way I finally found a pro shop I am happy with only 25 miles from the house. He has been in business for 17 years and deals in Matthews, Hoyt, and Bowtech. hutchies
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix Well I had the local shop reserv the cable and guess what. I have ran 6 shots thru it and it is already starting to wear. You can already see spaces between where he wrapped it. I guess I will be going to Bass Pro this weekend. This is ridiculous. I am wish now I could just get my money back.
LifeNRA
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix You said the dude at Parker will fix it for free right? If you like the bow, why not send it to them and get it done?
mainebuck
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix My Fred Bear TRX I just got rid of was doing the same thing. I had the string re-served for turkey season and it made it through. The cam was leaning on mine. I brought it 2 or 3 different places and no one could get it fixed. My only option I was left with was to send it to the manufacturer for a 6 week trip for repair. No thanks. Been there done that. I traded it toward a Switchback. If you can get it fixed in a timely manner do so.
hutchies
Re: Here we go...Problems with Parker Phoenix I talked to the archery manager at Bass Pro and he said that Shane(one of the guys that work there) had the same problem and he had to send it back more than once. NO thanks. Think I will find a new bow.

Shot great though, 35 yards and keeping them in a three inch circle!
