dogdoc
I purchased a Kubota tractor a little over a year ago at the Kubota dealership in Shawnee Oklahoma. I took it in last wednesday for it's 50 hour maintenance. I went to pick it up on saturday and as I was loading the tractor I noticed all these scratches (thru the paint to the primor) on the hood. I went back in and told the lady at the front desk what had happened. She called the owner out of his office and told him---I knew it was going to go downhill from there as he was shaking his head with a nasty look on his face. Anyway we went outside and I showed him the scratches. He said there was no way they happened here as they didn't even touch the hood. Well I know this is a lie as they changed the filters and replaced all the fluids in the tractor. Very politely I stated "Sir, I promise you those scratches were NOT there when I dropped the tractor off." He looked at me with so much hate then started screaming at me and called me a "Lying SON OF A B....!" He then told me to get the H*** of his lot and to not come back" I then told him he didn't have to worry about that--that I'd never come back to a crappy place like this." He then turned to me and started charging me--now this guy is easily in his upper 60's. I brought my fists up to defend myself and when he saw this he stopped and started screaming at me that he was going to call the police. I just laughed at him and told him to go ahead. He then called me another name which then I returned a choice name back at him. He then tucked tail and started trotting back to the front door screaming that he was going to call the police. This was the craziest thing I have ever happened to me. I know there in not much I can do. I am writing a letter to the Kubota Corporation explaining what happened and who they have representing their company. The bad thing is now the other closest dealership is over an hour away from our farm so it will be a big hassle to get service. I don't know how in the world this guy stays in business. My dad told me to buy a GREEN tractor--now I wish I would have listened to him! todd
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Ok...so why didn't you knock him upside his grape. As soon as he charged you, it was all fair game. You do look like a little guy though. Call Gator over, he would of whooped him for you OOHHH, I know, you wanted to do the right thing right? Good choice and probably the best choice. I would definatley call the company and tell them. I would do everything I could to make him go out of business. AaronS
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Sorry to hear of your awkward situation Todd. I agree you should call Kubota Corp. about it. If you have time, also visit the forum at tractorbynet.com to share your experience with the members there. They may know of other avenues for you to pursue, and at the least you will find great information about your Kubota and other machinery. Tominator
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Geez. I thought my Kubota dealer was horrible, yours takes the cake. I guess you could take them to small claims court, but I'm afraid the burden of proof on you would be too great.
JoshM
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... LoL....That guy must of been crazy! I surely would call the campany and tell them what happend..... People these days...

huntn4bucks
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... In addition to writing a letter to Kubota, I would also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB doesn't mess around and I guarantee it will get his attention. MCH
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Todd, make sure and document those scratches. I remember you taking a picture of it a couple of months ago that could be used as a before photo. Send those in with your letter and they should help. Glad to hear you didn't have to hurt him, though....
Griz
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Man Todd it sounds like his a real dandy.... Thank goodness it wasn't me that it happen to. I might be sitting in jail right now for whopping up on a 60 year old man. Well there's only a 13 year difference between us... There was no call for him to do that to you. I fill like you made the right choice though. Get ahold of the dealership. Maybe they will drop that nut for good. Last thing Kubota needs is a bad dealer like that.... buckee
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... YEP...Raise Cain Todd...Too bad he didn't take a swing at you too, you could have gotten a green tractor out of the deal...LOL Man I feel for ya. Funny how you remember every scratch that you put on something new. I had a little 21/2 HP trolling motor for my canoe, that got stolen out of my shed. 5 years later, I was coming back from Victoria and decided to stop in at this used stuff place. Low and behold, there is my motor sitting there, with my very first big scratch running across the side of it....LOL I called the guy over and told him my story, even though I realized I didn't have a leg to stand on as far as claiming my motor back after 5 long years. The guy got pretty defencive and tried to tell me it wasn't made the year I said it was. I smiled and asked him if he wanted all the papers that go with it, since it might help him get a better price...LOL GO GET HIM Todd
Palssonater
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... That's an unreal story. This guys sounds like he is on the edge man. He really shouldn't be running a business. I hope Kubota revokes his dealer license and the whole works. I think the sheer fact that he charged you can be classified as assault. And the fact that he was yelling at you can get him defamation of character and verbal assault as well. A genuine disagreement is one thing, but an idiot who probably should be in a home is another. Sock it to him. BBB will take good care of him! We just bought a new(er) car for Jenn and I couldn't believe the manure they throw your way. They absolutely lie through their teeth. I would have a hard time sleeping at night if that was my job.

Gator
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... That has got to be the craziest thing I have ever heard. I would definately do as the others suggested, difantely write Kubota. heck I would call the BBB, see what they have to say. Anytime you need to go back out there, just give me a call, I promise that ol'man won't mess with my sweetheart like that!!

Shaun_300
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Good Gosh! That would have been a crazy experience! Knowing my temper, i would have probably clocked the guy... Good luck with your situation, Todd, I hope everything works out, and that crazed idiot looses his vendor's license. I know if the owner of the GM Dealership I work at pulled a stunt like this to one of our customers because of a complaint about a scratch on their car when their vehicle was in for service, the dealership would no longer be present! Grant-KS
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Geez! That's nuts! When he said he was going to call the cops, I think I'd reply "good idea, I think I will too." Definately call/write one of the big shot reps in Kubota and tell them every last detail of exactly what happened, and maybe ask to have his dealer's contract be revoked. I would also do as the others have said by contacting the Better Business Bureau Shoot, maybe Kubota will even send you a touch up kit with factory paint. LOL Best of luck. Guest Phaseolus (BeanMan)
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... DogDoc, You don't have to get your service done at a Kubota dealership, there are bound to be many places that can do routine maintenance for you. Congratulations on not hitting the dude, you showed you are the better Man. Beanman
Guest cowpoke
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... Turn him in to Kubota and the Better business bureau. the kubota dealer in this area seems to be a decent fella.
Strut_Buster
Re: Wild experience at tractor dealership.... I would be on the phone with Kubota ASAP. That guy sounds like a pecker. You should have called the police yourself with that treatment. They damaged your tractor, maybe the officer could offer some leverage. Find another dealer in the area and go to him. Anyways, Kubota makes a good tractor for shure.... I dunno If I'm gonna go Green. My Uncles construction uses their small backhoes.. my other uncle has a 35 Hp i think and we use it along with our JD for foodplots.
