Team Realtree
I have always been surprised when I ask in the homepage polls "Are you a member of Buckmaster's?" The response is always low (for yes). And I have have asked it a few times over the years. So here goes. I've decided to come in here and ask you hardcore hunters "are you a member?" And why or why not? I want to get to the bottom of this mystery. S
Shaun_300
Re: Buckmasters? I'm not a member yet, but I'd like to get a membership soon. Now that I am out of college and have a full time job, I can afford some extra stuff!
tedicast
Re: Buckmasters? I am not a member, I don't watch their TV show. The main reason is that I just have no tolerance for Jackie Bushman.

VtBowhunter
Re: Buckmasters? I was but I got tired of all the unwanted and unordered videos and books being sent followed by a bill wanting payment in full. Besides that, I get tired of Jackie Bushman with his "Look how great I am" attitude........seems like most of Buckmasters is all about him. Strut10
Re: Buckmasters? To me, Buckmasters does not relate to the "average Joe" (i.e. me) who does not hunt huge tracts of reserved ground. At least, that's what I get from the TV show. I guess, if Jackie Bushman could come pull 150" deer off the ground I hunt on a regular basis...............I'd be impressed enough to join. TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Buckmasters? No I am not. Why....I havn't the foggiest idea. I have however watched their shows in the past but not that often and it's been QUITE a long time since. Realtree Outdoors is pretty much the show to watch. I can't answer why....I just felt at home with Realtree
buckee
Re: Buckmasters? I don't mind Jackie Bushman and I used to watch the show all the time, but don't get it any more. The only reason I'm not a member, I guess, is because I'm a member of too many things already I think that because his show is geared towards the youth in hunting, says a lot for Jackie Bushman. My hats off to the guy.
dogdoc
Re: Buckmasters? vt--the first time they sent me something that i did not ask for I sent it back to them with a note that stated in the future these items will not be returned. I have been a member now for about 3 years and have never received another product. I know Jackie rubs a lot of people the wrong way but I just enjoy hunting shows and the guy really does a lot for the disabled hunters and youth. His show is not one of my top 3 but I still enjoy watching it. I also enjoy the magazine. Now his new "David Letterman" style show on the Outdoor Channel---I don't know really what to think of that. I do know I wouldn't mind having his job and get to hunt some of the awesome places he hunts--but i'd still pass on the high fence hunts. todd

VermontHunter
Re: Buckmasters? NOPE.......I don't really have any memberships to anything that cost me money, and not really get anything in return except lots of mail asking me to buy things......The wife really doesn't alot me a big enough weekly allowance to do such things anyways....SORRY
Steven
Re: Buckmasters? No. I'd rather pay for my own hunting trips, not Jackie's. I'm not a fan of exessive phone calls trying to sell me the same things over and over, either.
maddhunter
Re: Buckmasters? Yes I am!!!! The package I got was worth almost what I paid for the membership and I love the magazine. I also have subscriptions to thier RACK and GUNHUNTER mags and like them alot too, can't wait till the next one gets here. They had the new OK non-typical record buck in RACK and had a story on the possible new typical record buck that is in court. I got a good deal on the mags too. Don't get any unwanted calls or videos or books in the mail either unlike the NAHC which I am no longer a member of. And as far as paying for someone elses hunting trips, every time we by a product such as hunting videos and or camo clothing we are paying for thier hunting trips. Tominator
Re: Buckmasters? Was for a long time Scott, but dropped them recently. For me, they lost their sincerity and got way too commercial.
Guest Finn
Re: Buckmasters? I was a member, am not now. I don't mind the mailings, but the phone calls got me to quit. When I tuned into Buckmasters TV, there were too many times with no deer hunting. Something called "Buckmasters" should be showing deer hunting....IMHO, of course
HarvDog
Re: Buckmasters? I'm not a member and never have been. The TV show doesn't really give me the type of hunting footage I'm looking for. It's more planned and calculated. Just doesn't seem "real" to me. Not to mention all of the marketing. UGH...get on with the hunting already. And some of the Buckmasters reps have really annoyed me on the phone.

By the way you guys are talking, it's not like it used to be. Maybe I'll re-consider joining.

BTW I love what he does for kids hunting but I HATE the puppet that knows nothing and the ansers he comes up with from kids questions just abotu had me on the floor in tears!! BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Buckmasters? I am not a member of Buckmasters simply for the fact that I think jackie Bushman is a very poor representative of our sport that most of us try and protect so hard ..... let me explain if you watch his show its sorta geared to the kids with the Young bucks series which is ok but what isnt ok is the viseo he shows I mean he shows the deer ... in most cases coming across the field the the camera goes to him getting ready to shoot the gun/bow there is no impact shot ever on his shows. now most think this isnt a big deal but I think it sugar coats our sport for kids and even some adults if you want to teach a kid how to shoot a deer make sure they know the whole picture meaning the proper angle the exact hair n there body to hit follow up ona blood trail none of them are ever shown on the Buckmaster Tv program I feal that he trys to be to politically correct with his show that is most definately not what this sport needs it needs to be showne for what it is a sport in which we humanely kill animals for food in most cases and that it is a fun time to spend with your child even if you dont get to kill an animal its all about telling it is like it is and not to sugar coat it. I ordered his new magazine Rack and I canceled the subsription after I got the first issue didnt care for the comentary in it. Personally I guess Im sensitive too this particular program because I think that we as hunters have nothing to be a ashamed of lets show the impact lets show the misses lets show how it really is in our great sport that we have.Every one of us as hunters need to stick together if we want to keep this privalage of hunting and not be ashamed of being hunters not be ashamed to tell someone that we kill animals for food forget all this political correctness crap and enjoy our great sport. Sorry for the rant thats just my 2 cents on the whol buckmasters thing and why I dont support him or anything he stands for... Sorry for the rant

deershed
Re: Buckmasters? Nope, never cared for Jackie Bushman.I think if the guy had to go out and hunt like the rest of us he'd quit hunting.
