Guest TheNumber1Young1
Ok, this year i am taking up muzzleloading, i just got a CVA Wolf Magnum, now im going to use 100grains of pellets(2 pellets 50grains ea.) I have heard good things of triple 7, i heard it burns faster and cleaner, can anyone back this up?And one of the big things i need help with is deciding whether or not to use the Powerbelt 245grain, or the Powerbelt 295 grain, with this gun i plan to shoot up to 100 yards, but i will be hunting in the woods mostly(60yds maximum), but i know i will need it to sight it in at 100yds, because i might be on powerlines, and fields sometimes, so which should i use, the 245grain bullet, or the 295 grain? David_218
Re: HelP? I use 90 grains (Volume) of Triple 7 "FFG Loose" behind a .452" Hornady 250 Gr. XTP Sabot, and fired by a 209 primer. This load works GREAT in my T/C Black Diamond .50 caliber. Triple 7 is a very good subsitute for black powder or pyrodex. It is much easier to clean your ML after shooting too. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: HelP? i'd say go to to the range and shoot both of them to see which one you are grouping better with....different guns shoot better with different loads. lil hunter
Re: HelP? Shoot both and see which one is the most accurate out of your gun. I don't believe 777 powder burns faster though. On my rem. 700 ml, i couldn't hardly even get the pellets to burn. My shot sounded like"POP.BOOOOM", rather than just BOOM. I could here my primer popping, before the powder burnt. Thats not how it's suppose to be. I did switch to loose 777 powder and haven't had a problem since.
archerjg
Re: HelP? Try both loads and see which your gun likes the best. In my Black Diamond I am shooting 100 grains of pyrodex pellets and a 250 grain shockwave bullet. It is dead on to 100 yards in my gun. too_pointer
Re: HelP? You will probably need to look at different loads. On my Encore, I use 2- 50 grn pellets of 777 powder, and a 295 grn. powerbelt. It works great in my gun, just goes off like a rifle. The accuracy with your gun is what you are looking for now. good luck too_
