HeviShot
Guy's it's HOT down here.I get up early in the mornings or at last light to shoot my bow.By the time I shoot six arrows or so I'm pouring sweat and my Scott release is soaked.Am I going to be able to get all that stink off when hunting time comes? cjsportsman
Re: The smell of your release. Thats something I don't have to worry about anymore. I switched over to a Tru Ball Pro Diamond. Its a thumb style release, I switched because I was tired of having a release wrapped around my wrist and making noise when I reached for the horns or to grab something out of my butt pack. Now I clip it to my string loop and hang the bow up and its ready to go when the time comes to loose an arrow.
LifeNRA
Re: The smell of your release. Funny, tonite I was shooting too. I had to take my release off because I was sweating. Never gave that a thought until now. I guess I would just spray it with a scent killer product.
Guest TheNumber1Young1
Re: The smell of your release. this has worked for me for about 3 yrs now, what i do is just soak it in any cover scent, it works, bc it absorbs the coverscent, it works for me.cant hurt to try,
PAbowhunter4life
Re: The smell of your release. I SPRAY EVERYTHING THAT GOES IN THE WOODS WITH ME WITH ROBINSON LABS FALL BLEND. Bow, arrows, clothes, release, treestand, fanny pack, if it comes in the woods and there's a chance of a deer smelling it, it's getting hosed

Griz
Re: The smell of your release. I spary my release down real good about 2 days before season and then store it in a scent bag, I will also spray everything down before heading to the woods. I use scentway earth. I'll even carry a bottle with me so that I can freshin' everything up as the day goes by...

Illinoisbowhunter
Re: The smell of your release. I must say this was a great point being brought up, its by far one of the most stinkiest objects when heading in the field. I normally spray my release liberally with Scent-A-Away w/ fresh earth cover up and Im off in the woods.

Rhino
Re: The smell of your release. I actually have 2 releases and I use one for hunting and the other for practice. I spray them both down with a scent killer to get rid of the smell though. It's usually pretty hot down here during the beginning of the season. BTW, it's not just your release you need to think about. I spray down everything that I take to the stand with me that I can't wash with unscented laundary detergent. I want to be as scent free as possible.
GWSmith
Re: The smell of your release. Think about your release like any other watchband! Ever have the courage to smell your watchband and not lose your lunch? I make a point to soak my watchband and my release in apple scented dish soap before any hunt!!! Dont forget to make sure you wash your hat too...remember that its not a fashion show so who cares about how you look if your successful?(their looking at the buck in the picture anyways...LOL) I know your probably thinking that you want to look good and washing the hats sometimes makes them crumple up a bit.....OK. I'll have you take the pictures of my buck while your in your pretty hat
Tominator
Re: The smell of your release. Yep, they can get stinky in the summer. I usually spray it down after I use it, and if it gets too bad, I toss it in the washer with the rest of the hunting stuff.
