archerjg
I have a 1998 Bear Whitetail Master and it has recently started to eat the string and serving around the cams. I had a new string put on less than a month ago and it has already started on this string and it is fraying in places. I don't see anything wrong and neither did the bow shop. Any ideas? I contacted Bear Archery, but I haven't heard back yet. This is my newest bow and the one that started giving me trouble this year. Griz
Re: Bow Problems Hmmm. Man that is a tough one... So, this is just a guess... It makes me think that it might be a cam bushing making the cam lean to one side as you draw the bow. That would cause wear in a string like that... I had that happen to me one time one a new HCA bow that I had. I needed up putting new bushings and axles on it and that seemed to have fixed the problem... And there again it my need to be waxed real good in those areas...
archerjg
Re: Bow Problems Thanks for the input. The other thing that is started doing is now all the arrows go up and to the left no matter where you put the pin. It was putting everything where you put the pin. VtBowhunter
Re: Bow Problems Sounds like your cam bushings may be worn out and that's let the cam move left to right some. That will eat the string and cables and throw accuracy out the window.

archerjg
Re: Bow Problems I have to take my bow back to the shop that installed my string as that is what customer service at Bear Archery told me to do. So I will have the shop check the bushings, axles, and everything. I was not impressed with the customer service though when I called Bear Archery.
