As long as you go with an upper end Simmons, you will be ok. I wold not go below the 44 Mag series. My other choice is the Aetec. The slug guns have some stout recoil and can eat a scope in no time, so get a decent one.

i've had a simmons 4x32 deerfield on my 870 for a few years, then put the same scope on my h&r. never ever had a problem with that scope. i now have a leopould on the h&r. the biggest factor i would look for on a sluggun is the eye relief..(at least 3inches). personaly i like a fixed power scope on all my slugguns. & remember the bigger the objective the more light gathering ability the scope will have..

Hello, it's a slug gun. You want a straight 2x or a straight 4x. Why spend $500.00 on a Leopold

var-!!! for shooting under 100 yards.

Yeah...it's a slug gun...whats your point? confused.gifI happen to prefer a little more power than 4x. If I want to spend the money on Leupold , why shouldn't I?

I have shot deer at 350 yards with my 30-06 with a weaver 4x

It doesn't bother me in the least that you shoot a straight 4X, why should it bother you that I shoot a higher power variable????? confused.gif
