HeviShot
I am very hard on my vanes while practicing.I've shaved a few off or wrinkled them up while shooting. What is the easiest way for me to remove the old vane's and glue and replace them? The hair dryer trick just does'nt do a good job.I'm shooting Easton Epics and Super Carbon's.Anyone one got any tricks. MCH
Re: Vane removal Hevi, I had heard a lot of bad things about the Zip Strip so I wouldn't have bought one myself. But my wife bought one for my birthday and I'll have to admit that it sure beats the heck out a razor blade or knife. It was taking me at least 5 minutes per arrow before the zip strip and now we're talking less than 1 minute per arrow. I highly recommend one. dogdoc
Re: Vane removal i use a dull pearing knife---put a little acetone on a rag to wipe off residual glue. clean with alcohol--then fletch. I fletched my last dozen with wraps and never again will i be scraping glue off carbon arrows! todd

Tominator
Re: Vane removal I use an old butcher knife. I just slide it up and down the shaft until all the glue is gone. The knife has a bit of a heft to it, so the old vanes come off pretty easy.
