Jeramie
Re: Big Lake Trout pic Thats a very nice fish! When I was fishing in Yellowstone, they told me if I caught a lake trout to kill it if I didn't want to keep it. They suggested sticking a knife through its diaphragm and letting it sink back into the water.

sasksheds
Re: Big Lake Trout pic All our fish were catch & release except for a 6-10lb one for shore lunch each day. These big fish are very old & take years to get that big.I wouldn't care much for who ever told you that in "Yellowstone".That would be against the law here besides very unethical. Jeramie
Re: Big Lake Trout pic Actually the wardens told me that when I was picking up my permit to fish. According to them the Lake Trout will kill out the Native Trout thus they have been deemed a nuisance. All of the trout, short of the lake trout, had a size limit and such. Literally they said kill or keep any lake trout you catch. I fished mainly streams and rivers so i never got close to a lake trout.
