Sam16
I often watch hunting videos where after they make a kill shot and get out of the stand, they go "tracking" for the deer. The next screen they show is with the camera laying down right next to the deer's head and the 2 hunters walking up to the buck like they just found it. Please... give me a break. I'd much rather watch the over the shoulder footage of them seeing the deer for the first time than this baloney. Such a joke. Any1 agree? Guest antlers21
Re: This tick anyone else off? thats why I enjoy the primos truth videos because most of it is filmed buy the other hunters and they always keep the camera going. HarvDog
Re: This tick anyone else off? Yeah...but it's tv man! No-one would watch hunting shows where the spent 2 episodes tracking a deer.

JimT
Re: This tick anyone else off? That is kinda irritating...Buckmasters shows are the worst with stuff like this. Some things need to be staged, but definatley not the recovery.
hutchies
Re: This tick anyone else off? Doesn't bother me because I know they had to track it and I would rather them move on to showing the next hunt.
Guest deadeye270
Re: This tick anyone else off? One of the best "tracking" shots I've seen is an over the shoulder track and the hunter found his deer, took a papertowel out of his pocket and cleaned up the deer's mouth and nose, and then told the camera how happy and proud he was to take the deer. ksdeerhunter03
Re: This tick anyone else off? I really dont care either way, I understand why they clean the deer up first, but at the same time, thats part of hunting. My brother and I always take a pic with the deers tounge out and we will stick our tounge out of our mouth as well, just for fun!
Guest clayton819
Re: This tick anyone else off? iv only see it once or twice, dont really care for it all that much. seemed kinda stupid to me
Nosdog2
Re: This tick anyone else off? Meh, I notice it, however it doesn't bother me much at all. Realtree doesn't seem to do that. I know the "other" guy does it quite a bit, but it is still better than watching lifetime!
VTbowman
Re: This tick anyone else off? I agree. Its not as bad as a ground angle of the kill shot or drawing the bow back cut away from obviously a spot or angled advantage that would bust the hunter and the camera man. I dont mind so much if it gets cut away for a clean up of the animal but dont make it look like the guy drew back 5 minutes ago and then shot the deer... poorly for that matter.... I was disapointed to see Uncle Ted have this on one of his hunts. However he did/does an over the shoulder tracking and recovery which is just his style... ranchand99
Re: This tick anyone else off? I think it's silly, but they edit everything.Do you really think they are all that calm when they are shooting 150"+ deer? You don't really believe that those "Magic" scents/calls are really the reason they killed the deer..do you?I mean these are low pressured, highly managed deer properties.Any one here could go there with the right amount of money, stick out a disco ball in the middle of a food plot, and take a super buck doin' the hustle under it!! Everybodys gotta have a disco ball!!You can't kill one without it! I mean hey it's fun to watch the shows, but just like the turkey videos it doesn't happen exactly like they show it,every time. New people actually think it's that easy.I know I thought it was going to be as easy as in the videos when I started hunting 18 years ago.Boy was I in for a suprise. Tominator
Re: This tick anyone else off? Totally agree. Really hate when they insult your intelligence like that. Buckmasters is the best at faking everything about the "hunting" video.

dogdoc
Re: This tick anyone else off? Most hunting shows edit the hunt. Not only when tracking the buck but even on the shot. Do you think the camera man moves the camera to the hunter when he's drawing the bow--back to the buck--back to the hunter for the release--then quick enough back to the deer for the impact of the arrow. That deer would have them busted so quick--but it makes some great filming. I like the way Primo's and Roadtrips have the camera man behind the hunter during the recovery--adds a little real life to it. todd
ranchand99
Re: This tick anyone else off? You're right dogdoc. It's got to be hard for 6 different cameras to be all within 5yds of his tree..without them being busted.I like the over the shoulder shots like on primos' videos. [ QUOTE ] I like the way Primo's and Roadtrips have the camera man behind the hunter during the recovery--adds a little real life to it. todd [/ QUOTE ] Me too todd...As far as I'm concerned, the more realism the better. BTW, is it just me or has anyone else noticed how much movement the Drury boys get away with on their hunts. Some of it may be editing but some of it is obviously not when you have the deer and the hunter in the picture. I never realized how prone those deer were to not looking up to see movement in that general area of the country until I hunted it myself. They're sure not like the paraniod critters we have around here that seem to walk through the woods looking for strange lumbs in the trees. HeviShot
Re: This tick anyone else off? Isaw a show the other day where a guy had a small camera on his arrow. It showed the arrow leaving the bow and striking the turkey. After the impact you could hear the impact and watch the turkey run from the decoy and later fall over dead. Then you could see the hunter appoaching the bird. How this was done I don't have a clue. Straight Shooter
Re: This tick anyone else off? Yes, it gets aggrevateing to see this. Knowing good and well as a hunter what really goes on. As stated before, it's TV. It's got to look as humane as possible for those select few individuals and they still complain about showing a animal getting shot. It's okay to show to guys in an octagon beating eachother senseless, bloody, and unconscious. Go figure that one! I know wresteling is fake! LOL It's the UFC I'm referring to! Ravin R10 man
Re: This tick anyone else off? Any good hunter can spot staged scenes....some shows are just not over- edited as others. dogdoc hit r right on the head...thats my pet peeve, especially in the turkey hunting ones!!.....Primos, and Wild Outdoors are about as good as they get for reality, not to leave out RT....heck, when I watch a show..I want to come away with bloody arms up to my elbows ey??? [/ QUOTE ] My younger brother fell prey to this syndrome too. He started shooting ANYTHING only 4 years ago. (Guns and Bows) He bought all my older acrhery equipement and got really good really quick, I am sure due to my teachings. However come October when he 1st went out hunting with me, we were lucky to see deer no less shoot them. He was very disenchanted with long, cold, stand sits and lack of monster bucks walking around everywhere.. I almost lost him to bow hunting. Somehow I explained "It aint like TV...." and it kept him... Barely. His 3rd season out he shot his 1st deer. A huge doe we did a spot and stock on. HOOKED FOR LIFE now. LOL Funny how that works huh...
Tony
Re: This tick anyone else off? come on guys its TV... you know that they try to clean up the animal because they like to show it in a tastefull way.. most people do not want to see blood all over and guts hanging out.. i dont think they are trying to really mislead us . they just want you to get the feel for the hunt.. most of us know that the tapes are edited for TV . whats the most important thing , is the hunter making a good shot and the set up.. VTbowman
Re: This tick anyone else off? [ QUOTE ] whats the most important thing , is the hunter making a good shot and the set up.. [/ QUOTE ] 7 out of 10 shows on TV now-a-days show poor angle shots IMO. Thats a big thing that bugs me when you know new or would be hunters watch this and see a guy shoot a buck in the rear leg, luckily cutting the main artery, and getting the buck. Making it look TOO easy is not helping anyone... IMHO Saw that just 3 days ago on one of the shows. (I forget which one there are so many now-LOL) TV is what it is, as are movies. Take them for what they are worth and edit it in your own mind as to what real or fake. For the record, as much as they bug me, I still watch them over Dr. Phil and Opera. LOL
maddhunter
Re: This tick anyone else off? I don't care for showing the hunter walking up to the deer from the deer either. I like the Primos and Realtree videos the best. You know, no matter what video it is, it's got to be hard to get all that video without the deer busting the camera man/men. My hat is off to all that make quallity hunting videos!!!!!!
