Jeramie Posted October 27, 2004 Report Share Posted October 27, 2004 Yeah ive been griping a lot lately. Sorry, I promise it will all eventually pass and Ill be back to smiles. Everyone has heard about my wreck until they were sick of hearing it. Here's another post. My body guy (a guy ive known 15-18 years) was suppose to pay the Rental above and beyond what the insurance company was to cover because he was taking to long. The bill came to $673. At first he said he would pay it. Then he tried to bargain with them for half, finally he just said, "Come get a check." When they showed up he tried to argue for half once again. They said no, of course. I got a call from the rental place earlier. He said, "Shane payed......$100." I could kill right now. I have to cough up $573 by tomorrow or it goes to a collection agency. If it is not on your service contract (that he would pay the overage in car rental), it will be just his word against yours in court. Do you know of any other customers of his that he has made this type of verbal agreement with, and stood by his agreement? (this would show that it is his usual practice) I would advise you to pay it first before any court action to save your own credit rating, then decide if it is really worth the effort, and expense. If you tell your friends about it, the bad publicity would hurt his business probably more than the law suit. It will also cost you some time off work if you proceed to court. Actually he also told the guy at Enterprise Rent A Car that he would cover it until my truck was finished. Thats good enough for me. Im going by to see him after work.....I have a bee in my bonit. For some strange reason he isnt calling me back right now. Trust me, I will tell everyone I know, especially if he decides to not pay. Jeramie, Word of mouth advertising is what everyone wants....funny how when it turns the other direction they want to sue you for defamation of character...be careful. Oh Yeah...Take off the Bonnet first...makes you look funny and it will let the bee out (probably too small for you and it just wasnt your color anyway).
