JimT
Just wondering how many of you wear face paint instead of a mask while hunting. I was thinking about trying it if I can find some that washes off real easy.
mainebuck
Re: Face Paint I did a couple years ago. I was that classic HS camo compac with the gray, black, brown, and green. Burns the eyes if you get any in there from sweat or when rubbing iit off. that new stuff they sell in the tubes may be better. I'm thinking about getting a scentlok full headcover for this year so probably won't go with the face paint.
dogdoc
Re: Face Paint on a really hot day in early season you'll see me in face paint--but if the mosquitoes start getting really bad the light weight mask goes on. todd
tedicast
Re: Face Paint I use a Cabelas, CamoSkinz full face mask. Fits like a second skin, and doesn't affect my anchor point at all. Cabelas CamoSkinz Facemask
preacherman
Re: Face Paint i use a facemask. i have always been afraid that face paint would run in my eyes when I sweat.
HarvDog
Re: Face Paint If I get bored in my stand, sometimes I will apply my camo face paint. Most of the time, I just use a mask.

Illinoisbowhunter
Re: Face Paint I think paint is too much of a mess to deal with, IMO I usually just use a mask for head concealment.
Guest SRA
Re: Face Paint <---------------see me..... i wear it. it seems like a face mask restricts my vision and hearing....
LifeNRA
Re: Face Paint I used to use the HS Strut Camo face paint. I never liked it because it would block the pores in and around my nose and cheeks. Used to be a bugger to wash off too! Ill be using a light mask. snapper
Re: Face Paint There are pro's and con's to both...the mask/net does interfer with my hearing, eye restrictions etc... and the paint, I've had get in my eyes before and is a pain to get off. I generally wear a mask or sometimes nothing at all. Hardly ever paint.
Guest Finn
Re: Face Paint If anything, I take some of the black soot from my Dad's wood stove and camo up with that. I never liked a mask (covers up too much beauty)
VTbowman
Re: Face Paint If your a guy whos beard grows as fast as Homer Simpsons, then it will not be good for you. I do not like face paint for the reasons listed above. But mostly cause of my beard growth. Plus I feel a head net type face mask, with open eye holes, works the best for keeping you concealed and keeping the mosquitoes off your head and neck. Straight Shooter
Re: Face Paint It's mostly preforence. I've tried both and like the head net the most. It serves as a dual purpose, in early season. Concealment and keeps the critters off my face.
GWSmith
Re: Face Paint Jim, We are all glad your going to be trying it...LOL I've tried face camo paint(and dont forget the ears!!!)...most of it stayed right where I put it. The rest made a point to find its way into my eyes even though i was careful not to put any close to them. The best thing i have ever done is make a boonie hat with camo netting sewn all around the brim...kept the netting off my ears, did not effect my hearing, and no bugs! maddhunter
Re: Face Paint I use face paint for spring turkey hunting and face mask for deer. I don't put any paint above my eyes so I don't get any in them. Just pull my hat down over my forehead. Works great for me.
Tominator
Re: Face Paint I did my first year bowhunting, but don't anymore. Got tired of the goofy looks I got when I stopped for gas and such. Head net is a little easier to apply too.
ruttinbuc
Re: Face Paint I like the face paint myself. I just streak enough to break up my outline and dim the nose and ear lobes. Allen camo compacts are good. I carry a cannister of Wet Ones in the truck. Stuff comes off pretty good with that. I will also wear a headnet now and then. I hate when the headnets fog my glasses. I have tried defogging solutions, but still run into the problem now and then.
