Re: \"Texas Heart shot????????\"

Its a shot on a deer facing dead away from you, you shoot em right in the pooper!!! Makes for a smelly feild dress but there are no bones between the pooper and the vitals.

We've had this topic talked about before and it's a very touchy one. It's avery unethical shot and not a favorite by most hunters. Let's keep this to a dull roar, he only wanted to know what this shot was, not should he take it or not.

[/ QUOTE ] I had heard this term in another post and never heard of it before. Thanks for the info on what it is. And NO I would not EVER take this shot. I was raised to respect the animals that I hunt.

It is when you shoot one up the butt

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually the butt shot is sometimes referred to as the Arkansas heart shot. The Texas is a neck shot. Just some oldtimer's terms. Neither one should be considered as shots you intend to take.

LMAO...how many threads stay on topic around here. That's what makes this sight cool...it's full of surprises. I feel micro-managed now blush.gif

Anyway, unethical shot and I also never heard that term "Texas Heart Shot" either so I too have learned something. I like Buckee's answer though grin.gif Or the "John Kerry's Fan Club Shot" grin.gif
