Getting those feelings and rush again. Been seeing some great bucks lately. Have a good one yall. CASEY

ruttinbuc
Re: Getting ready to set up my stands. Remember the deer you see now are in their summer patterns. Choose your stand locations for October and November. It happens every year. A guy will set up his stands for what he is seeing in August and September and then wonders where the deer went in October.

Rhino
Re: Getting ready to set up my stands. [ QUOTE ] just set my stands up last week---instead of big bucks i'm fighting off a bad case of poison ivy and have 20 chigger bites around my belly button and it is driving me crazy!!!! best of luck this season todd [/ QUOTE ] Dang todd....it's early enough right now where you could be using insect spray to keep the chiggers at bay. I keep an ample supply of it handy this time of year. Got 4 more hang on stands set this past weekend and no chiggers or poison ivy to show for it. As far as poison ivy goes I use the buddy system method. I have a buddy who's not illergic to it so he gets that stuff out of the way for me. If it's bad enough he'll even hang the stand for me too. I'll help him out with his stands too as long as there's no poison ivy.
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Getting ready to set up my stands. Yeah, I am well aware of that, but thanks for the reminder. I pretty much have the deer pegged where I hunt. They receive very little pressure during archery and in all honesty they pretty much follow the same routine year after year. I pass on bucks every year and have encounters with HUGE bucks every year, but something always seems to go against me. In the past 4 years I have only had to move one stand to stay on the action, and I only had to move it about 60 yards.
Guest tyshe17
Re: Getting ready to set up my stands. Rihno is right, the buddy system is the way to go. My friend could bathe in that stuff and not break out...I am not terrible but I do get it. He just grabs a vine and tears it off and then I am free to hang away. But, I have also found that if I shower with in a couple of hours of touching it I usually dont break out...usually
