johnf
Do any of you watch Fox news? If so do you think they live up to their motto "Fair and Balanced"? Do you think they are the CBS of the right wing? I watch Fox more than anything else. It seems to me to be more balanced than any of the others while leaning, admitedly, a little to the right. Swamphunter
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? I think, in my opinion is "yes, they are fair... and "yes" they are balanced, but on the same hand, also republican/ conservative minded. They offered interviews to both Bush and Kerry and Bush went on but Kerry never would. Bush was interviewed by Conservative Sean Hannity and Kerry was going to be interviewed by the liberal Alan Colmes. I think they try to be fair and balanced but have a conservative slant. JMO I could be wrong.
Guest SLBDEERHUNTER
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? Look at any event that hits the national media, and then watch each network, of all the networks, fox will be more balanced & fair.

Guest Colorado Bob
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? I think Fox news is the most slanted of the 5 major TV news. I think CNN & CBS are slanted to the left. ABC & NBC are pretty much straight up IMO. I think PBS has the most indepth coverage. I usually try to watch Frontline & NOW------Both really well written & provide food for thought.
johnf
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? I just saw an interview by Paula Zahn. I think she is NBC (could be wrong) She was talking to a Rep & Dem about this missing explosives. She was very obviously leaning hard to the left. She even muted the mic of the Republican while he was making his point. Why ask a question if your not going to listen to the answer? It was shamefull. ParrotHead
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? Of course Fox is fair and balanced - that's the only reason the liberals hate it so much!
wtnhunt
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? I usually watch nbc news, but will flip to cnn and occasionally to fox. As far as fair and balanced I think alot depends on who is actually giving the news on any of the networks. CBS is no doubt very one sided and I will not watch the CBS news. Guest andymansavage
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? to keep from throwing things at my TV, I usually watch fox. But I aslo think that if you have to say that you are fair and balanced, there is reason for people to think otherwise. Like that kid in high school who always tells everyone " man, I'm such a rebel". If it's true, it should be a given.

Its a proven point that when it comes to news, reporters are generaly democratic. editors and producers are generaly republican. The owner of fox news sends a few semi's full of money to the republican party every year.
slugshooter
Re: FOX News: Fair and Balanced? I personally like MSNBC, I don't really feel FOX is all that bad, but they are a little to the right, mainly cause O'Reilly seems to tip the scale over that way. If I am looking for something quick I'll start at CNN, put it this way, I like the coverage CNN gives, seems like they always have the best footage, but as far as reporting I'll stick with NBC and MSNBC. I'll bet money that Brian Williams is gonna take Brokaw's slot when he retires.
