markyj987 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Share Posted August 2, 2005 In recent years, I haven't agreed with much of what Milwaukee Brewers management has done, but they made a great decision yesterday. Brewers manager and friend of "them Realtime boys" Ned Yost will stay on with the Brew Crew through 2006, as the club picked up the option for 2006. Ned Yost has brought a real sense of excitement to Milwaukee and brought me and many others back to the stadium. Sunday, I sat in Miller Park with 36,000 other screaming fans and the energy in the place is electric. We're on the verge of a winner here thanks to Ned Yost, GM Doug Melvin, and owner Mark Attanasio. Ned Yost is a real baseball guy--he's great for the sport, great for the team, and great for Milwaukee--it doesn't hurt in my opinion that he's an avid hunter either! Kudos to the Brewers on this move--and I do NOT think it's too early to talk about a contract extension. Yost is slated to make $600,000 next year--and though I don't say this often about people in sports--he deserves every penny and more. I was dissappointed to see him leave Atlanta, but I don't blame him for taking the job. I wonder if he still does any hunting with Chipper and Hampton? I've had the pleasure of meeting him twice the past two years and he is really down to earth. Got to share some hunting stories with him also. Man, he was excited about the 175"buck he shot in Alberta two years ago. He was also great friends with Dale. Some might remember Dale wearing a Braves cap every once in awhile.
