Ok folks I have spent a few mornings out building some archery ground blinds. Unfortunately my 2 kids get bored to quickly and I can not spent more time out there. smirk.gifgrin.gif

That and those dang deer flies are killing us alive! shocked.gifcrazy.gifmad.gif

Here is the 1st called "Pine Tree ground blind". It is NOT bushed up yet, nor painted black inside. I just wanted to show what the windows and walls looked like.

Here is "Woods ground blind". Made roughly the same way but not quite as large nor with windows since its possible to shoot over the walls. My kids helped camo this one.

This shot is at 5 yrds.

Heres another angle from the deer trail 15 yards away.

Here is one I have been wanting for years! So many hunts I saw deer pass on either side of this point of trees and I was about 80 yards away in one of the only trees big enough for a stand. This is built in the end of a ditch so its kinda 1/2 a pit blind too. Your head will be right about shoulder hieght to any deer walking by.

This shot is at 10 yards.

Here it is at about 50 yards. From the heavy deer trail that exits the woods.

Man, those are sweet.

I can relate on how the kids tire out quickly. Mine hardly even follow me out to the field lately its been so hot.

I made a "Buckee Special" last year. Your pallets give me an idea. Hmmmmmmm, now I need some cooler weather so I don't melt out there. crazy.gif

Re: A few pics of ground blinds....

those look like some pretty sweet set ups there!!! the only advice i would give is to maybe on the "woods ground blind" since you are going to be shooting over the top edge. i would probably add some more brush on the opposite side of the main trail that you are hunting to help break up your outline, but not so much that it isnt possible to get a shot off the other way. i would deff sit my butt down and hunt out those blinds any day though!

Looks good,,,and seems like your about ready to go...

Believe me Jim, Shawn has been one busy man the las few days,,,,,he's built those great looking and functional blinds, while taking care of his kids, and all in this unbearable heat....

Just makes me feel like a bum having other obligations to take care of and work I couldn't be out there helping out,,the best I could do is supply some materials....... frown.giffrown.gif

It's really going to make me feel bad when I take that great looking 10pt. with my Alpine this Bow Season..... grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif sorry Shawn but if that bad boy walks out in front of me I have a BH with his mane on it..... grin.gifgrin.gifwink.gif
