I couldn't believe my eye's saw the cam at Dicks sporting goods.....don't know if its on their web site...it has some generic name.....can't remember......it comes with a USB cable.....uses a SD media card......capacity is low....flash range and PIR sensor....only 15'......but hey for $ 149 ......it may not be all that bad......resolution was low too.....man never seen one that cheap.......it may not be much......but it may beat film developing....wish I could remember the name........I'll check it out again.......I know it has a web site too.

I just got in a new catalog from Sportsmans guide and it has one in it for 109.97. This is a digital with 3.0 megapixel. It has the cables and software also. I wont try it out because it has no name and I see a flaw just from the pic. There is one glass across from the flash to the lens which will cause flash bleed at night. I will let someone else try it first. I will look at there web site to see if it gives more info. smirk.gif

Just remember ... you get what you pay for.

I'm no expert at these things as I just jumped into the digital game camera thing a month or so ago. But what I've learned from this site and sites like Jesse's is that there is much more to these things than just high megapixal ratings. Spending $109 or $149 can be worse than dropping 10x that amount, if it does not work.

They look like Stealth cameras to me. All I can say is that I have a friend that bought the Stealth digital. He is extremely unhappy with it. EATS batteries and rarely takes a good picture. It is slow to trigger and often the picture quality is poor at best. I've seen similar comments at Jesse's site.

I got the Leaf River and love it. I've heard good things about the Cuddie Back. Also, there are some real good Home Brew cameras for sale on Ebay. Or, for under $200 you could build a Home Brew camera that is better than any $500 or less commercial camera out there. That is what I'm going to do this winter.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah that is the same cam as the one at Dicks sporting goods but cheaper....I like my Leaf too.......but for $ 109 it can't be all bad and you don't really have nothing to lose with a good return policy.......I wouldn't be afraid to try one as a extra digital in the woods.....as long as it took ok pics...it would still beat film developing......Sportsman guide has a 30 day return policy I believe.,...........It does take AA's....which means the battery life is gonna be pretty low....maybe only a few weeks in the cold.....dunno....still not bad even with it's short range and battery life for the $$

Some one on Hags house just bought one and it will be in on Friday. He will post pics and info when he tries it out. I build my own cams but I cant build a 35 mm cam for that price. I have built one 35 mm and two digitals so far. I will be back at it after deer season. grin.gif
