Jeramie
I recently Bought a Savage .22mag simply because I got the Rifle topped with a 4x40 for $100. It has a few very small rust spots on the very tip of the barrel. I also have a Rem700, 30-06 with a few "Touch Up" spots. I picked up a small bottle of Perma Blue from Walmart. I had planned on using it just on the .22 but might as well touch up the Remington. Is the product worth a darn or would I be better off to just touch up the .22? Also, im sure the finish wont match? The touch up spots will probably be darker? Anyone use the product and have any advice? This will be my first attempt on blueing. Im not so worrked about the .22 but im pretty partial to the 30-06. AJ
Re: Perma Blue? Personally, I use Oxpho-Blue from Brownell's. You can apply it over the dirt and oil. Other cold blues need you to degrease and clean the part before applying the blueing. Oxpho-Blue is also the strongest. I use it on a lot of my guns. I give my hunting guns a wipe down with it after the season. It keeps them looking decent.
