Tominator
Re: Squirrel Season September 1st for us. Don't hunt them anymore since Ohio established a dove season. Dove is 100x more fun IMHO.

Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: Squirrel Season I have got my .22 sighted in and ready to go. Can't wait, although I don't want to rush things, because I want to get my car fixed before the season opens, and it might just take that long to fix it. Jeramie
Re: Squirrel Season Ours started back in May. I think it ends in February so we pretty much hunt most of the year. I dont put a hurt on them until we have one freeze though. I still have a few months before I start hunting them.
David_218
Re: Squirrel Season [ QUOTE ] Indiana seaeion comes early. August 15th. ready for some grays. [/ QUOTE ] Here in SW Indiana we have both Gray and Fox Squirrels. Fox Squirrels are the largest, and are near corn fields while Grays are mostly heavy woods Squirrels. Jeramie
Re: Squirrel Season We have both Fox and Gray too. We dont have a lot of corn fields around our place. Most are roughly 30 miles away. We have thousands of acres of hard woods (around us). Squirrels are thick as can be. You can pretty much go out anytime of any day and kill some. Its pretty crazy! They arent that hunted around our place. If you sit still for a few minutes you will see dozens.
MUDRUNNER
Re: Squirrel Season Ours opened up on August 1.I usually don't go until it cools off a bit,it's been in the mid 90's here the past few weeks.Nothing like squirrel and eggs for breakfast!I'm picking up a few boxes of shells for my .410 this weekend. maytom
Re: Squirrel Season [ QUOTE ] Anybody else getting ready for squirrel season? Squirrel season opens up in NY on September 1st! I can't wait to get out there after some bushytails again! [/ QUOTE ] Yep, I can't wait either!! Me, my cousin and his son hunt together all the time and we have one heck of a squirrel stew afterwards!! I recently picked up a new scope for my CZ-452 American in the .17HMR caliber, but have to take it to the range to have the new scope sighted in. September 1st aint too far away!! Nut
Re: Squirrel Season We will be getting ready next weekend by double checking the sights and scopes on the .22's. Also loading up on shotshells for them and doves.
spyderpancake
Re: Squirrel Season maytom, how do you like that CZ? I have a marlin, which are generally more accurate, but not quite as well made. How does it shoot?
maytom
Re: Squirrel Season I ended up getting it late in the season last year, so I only sighted it in at 75 yards. It would put 5 shots inside a nickle at that distance, but the 3X9 scope that I had wasn't enough power to shoot at 100+ yards. I have since picked up a 6X18 power, and can't wait to sight this one in. The CZ is a very well made gun for the money, and the best rimfire I ever owned. I think that you'd be impressed. Turkeygirl
Re: Squirrel Season I can't wait for the NY squirrel season either! There is nothing like be in the woods in the early fall, early in the morning, and hearing the woods wake up with the sounds of hickory nuts and acorns dropping from the trees!
