one yote down....

I needed to do some spraying for ragweed on my plot so I decided to head out a little early and do some videoing on the plot. Saw several deer and turkeys. Then about 8:30 a doe blew and her twins went running to her. They were acting a little confused and this got the turkeys all excited also. The deer ended up running in the trees and the turkeys were on high alert. When all of a sudden I see what has everything worked up. Thru the trees I could see this yote putting a stalk on the turkeys. I grab my .25-06 and try to find an opening in the trees. I ended up losing the yote but could tell the turkeys were still acting very nervous. Finally she stepped out into an opening. This was my only chance for a shot so I didn't have time to move the video camera for the shot---but the 120 grain core-lokt found it's mark and one yote down. The turkeys went flying at the shot but at least they didn't get eaten. She was a very old yote---both her bottom canines were down to the gum line and all her bottom incisors were gone. I'm sure she has eaten a few turkeys in her day.
