maddhunter
Re: feathers or vanes If there is any chance of fletching contact I have always gone with feathers, But I shoot vanes through my wisker biskit on my Switchback.
maytom
Re: feathers or vanes This has been a great debate over the years. One thing that holds true, feathers aren't as durable as vanes, especially in wet weather. They are also much noiser as well when brushed against anything. So if you decide to use feathers, just be prepared to do or have a re-fletch job done more frequently.
preacherman
Re: feathers or vanes i personally use vanes, but would love to use feathers someday. sounds like I am mixed up as well, eh?
Guest kunegos
Re: feathers or vanes I have found that feathers hold up better with the WB. I like the fact that they are more forgiving.

ksdeerhunter03
Re: feathers or vanes Vanes, thats what I shoot, dont want to mess with feathers. I shoot plenty and never worry about refletching from march - dec.

hutchies
Re: feathers or vanes I shoot vanes. I might try some feathers one day but for right now my vanes work real well so no need to replace.
Covehnter
Re: feathers or vanes I shoot vanes. I find myself hunting in the rain sometimes and the feathers dont fly the same when they're wet.
VTbowman
Re: feathers or vanes If ya would of asked me this last fall I would of said "Die Hard Vanes man" Now I am a trad only shooter and LOVE my feathers. Although I have no choice but to use feather since I shoot off the shelf,I think if I ever went back to compounds I would still use feathers... I personally have not noticed any flight change wet or dry either, although I plan to spray mine with silicon to prevent soaked feathers. I have yet to do this yet... JimT
Re: feathers or vanes I prefer vanes, mostly because they are so much quieter.

Guest MattA311
Re: feathers or vanes Feathers.. because they rotate the arrows about 200 times faster than vanes... which means more accuracy and downrange power
VtBowhunter
Re: feathers or vanes I'll have to find the list that Easton put out showing all the reasons that Feathers are far superior to vanes...........yes I shoot feathers.
