VABuckSlayer
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? I didn't realize he was using something like that. I bet it will be outlawed next year. I know you want to use every advantage you can but I think something like that is a bit extreme. I still think he's the best fisherman out there though! HuntingInMaine
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? If there was no rules against the use of this technology, then I don't think he did anything wrong. I guess it is like using an electronic call for hunting... PAbowhunter4life
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? I'm just shocked. I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday down town at the Expo and the weigh-ins. I was speaking with rep after rep from Nitro, Triton, Bagley, Berkely, Skeeter, Strike King, all of them were in the know as far as the classic was concerned. I did not hear mention of this device by anyone the entire weekend and I never heard the words come from KVD in an interview at all.
robk
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? if it is not inthe books as illegal then it's not illegal for tourney's. kevin did what any other pro would do if he had the chance and he won the show with it so it will probabl make big time fishermen out of a nobody or it will end up dummy will use it and catch a world record fish rob k
hutchies
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? I agree. There is no rule against it so he did not do anything wrong.
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? For the record everyone, I went back a ways and with some help of my buddy's magazine, KVD has been using this all year and has been endorsing the heck out of it openly. So it's no tlike he just broke it out specifiaclly for the Classic here cause the fishing was tough. This being said, every other angler out there was well aware of it and had every opportunity to use one, and they didn't. Like everyone else stated, B.A.S.S. doesn't think it's helpful enough to be deemed illegal, so there's really nothing for anyone to gripe about. RTF
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? [ QUOTE ] so there's really nothing for anyone to gripe about. [/ QUOTE ] I feel this will become a hot issue in the near future. As myself and so many others we had no idea about it until KVD won the Classic. I watch ESPN BASS every saturday and have never heard a thing about this device. Furthermore I have not even seen this thing advertised in any of my Bass magazines. I think this device was overlooked by the competitors and BASS. Lets just sit back and see if anymore media attention develops over this. I will begin by watching Bass Center in just a few hours. horst
Re: Did Kevin VanDam play fair ? I dont follow bass fishing very much but someone in the link you gave said he only won by 3 ounces??If that was the case I really cant see the big advantage it gave him over everyone else.If he didnt violate any rules using it Id say he played fair.If it becomes an issue later on it still wont have much affect on the fact that he won this year.
