I turned up the juice

I turned my limb bolts all the way down today and then back them off about a half of a turn. The result was awsome.I had to adjust my sights just a little.I took all the arc out of my arrow flight. My bow is rated at 70 lbs so I guess that is what I'm shooting now.My arrow flight is so flat I can hardly see my arrow flying.I bought some cheap Carbon Express Wolverine arrows today 50-60.Was turning up the juice safe? Are these arrows safe to shoot?

Re: I turned up the juice

what length are the arrows? do you know their gpi? what grain tip are you shooting? and finally--what vanes are you shooting. really what I need to know is your total arrow weight. You need to be shooting at LEAST 5 grains of arrow per pound of draw weight--and that is bare minimum in my opinion. Anything less is unsafe.

glad the bow is shooting sweet!

Re: I turned up the juice

I've looked for the arrows specs and can't find them.I'm shooting 100 grain tip. They are 29 inches.I went to Carbon Express web site and did'nt see them.I am also shooting Easton Epics and some Super Carbon I know they are ok.With 50-60 on them does that mean they are only rated for 60 lbs? They have 4 inch dura vanes. They look justlike my Super Carbons, but looks can be deceiving.

not necessarily--it's just a start. It also depends on your actual arrow length (not draw length) tip weight and fletching weight. A shorter arrow is stiffer than a longer arrow so arrow length makes a big difference when determining spining.
