dogdoc
well I really wanted to train my black lab myself but have reached a point where i am having a little trouble so i have requested the help of a professional trainer. I went out and met him wednesday evening and i think he's going to be a big help. He worked with the two of us (me and dog) for about an hour. gave me some tips on force breaking to retrieve and some basic commands and whistle training. He sent me home with her and I'll be working with her every night. I then go back next thursday for another lesson. If all goes well we will probably be collar training her in the next few weeks. I'm hoping I don't have to leave her with him but we will see. So far she is responding great to the short training sessions. I'll keep you posted! todd

huntn4bucks
Re: lab training progress..... Definitely keep us posted Todd. The lab I have right now made her first solo hunt retrieve last December when she was 10 months old. I get just as much enjoyment out of watching her retrieve ducks and geese as I do actually hunting them. Nice pic.
