Summertime coyotes

Re: Summertime coyotes

Most of the coyotes activity is going to be at night, it doesn't matter what time of year it is. Hunting during the Spring/Summer day light hours, your best time to hunt would be between dawn and 10:00am, and 7:00pm to dusk. But you can call them in any time of day, I have called in many coyotes at noon to 2:00pm.

Hunting during the summer, you have to think about what is available to the coyote and what is going on at the particular time of the Spring/Summer your hunting. This will help determine what type of call to try. During May-Aug the coyotes have pups. Pup distress calls work great. During May-July Deer have fawns. Deer and fawn distress work great. Rabbit and woodpecker distress also work great during the Spring/Summer.

But as for being difficult, I think I call in more coyotes during the Spring/Summer than I do in the Winter.
