AdvantageTimberLou
I just put one on my bow today, I got it from sluggunner on here because it wouldn't fit his Reflex Grizzly. I am sorry for his loss as this is an awesome drop-away rest! It is simple to set up and works off the bow's inertia. Best thing was my groupings were the best they have ever been. 5 arrows all within an 1 1/2" diameter. Very impressed with this type of drop-away and I suggest it to all of those wanting to try one. link about this type of rest: http://www.trapdoorrest.com/doc/features.htm Thanks again sluggunner!! AJ
Re: Trap Door Drop-away rest I have one of them on my Bowtech Extreme VFT. For target shooting its ok, but I don't care for it for hunting. Sometimes I draw back a little quick and it has popped the rest. I prefer the Trophy taker Shaky Hunter for hunting and have them on my hunting bows. Guest shtr
Re: Trap Door Drop-away rest I have used one since they were first introduced. I ended up buying 6 and putting them in the courner of the shop for me,me and me!. I use it in every line of shooting and have been able to tune it perfectly, regardless of arrow weights and other factors.
Guest MCDillinois
Re: Trap Door Drop-away rest Yes, the Trap Door is AWESOME!! I got into a pretty good debate about drop aways vs whisker buisket a while back and no one came to my defense. So....yes, I believe the Trap Door is the cats meow! Isnt the tunability great! And there are no cords, strings, NOTHING!! Best of all your arrow is in place at all times........does not have to lay on your riser and come up as you draw. AJ....you can correct the problem of the rest falling down if you have a hard draw stop by incrementally adjusting the inside allen screw on the housing. Play with it and you will be fine. Target on the other hand its great.
Canuck2
Re: Trap Door Drop-away rest I've always been amazed that the Trap Door doesn't seem to get as much good press as some of the others. I've had one on my bow since Oct '03 and have put around 10 or 12 thousand shots through it with never a glitch. It's there for spots, field events, 3D, and hunting and it's simply the greatest thing since sliced bread, imo.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Trap Door Drop-away rest Not sure on the Mathews deal but there is a sensitivity screw on it. It should work on a Mathews. Maybe contact Trap Door (Montana Black Gold) about it. I e-mailed them with questions and they responded back in a few hours. Awesome customer service. As for not getting much press and exposure I am not sure why they aren't. I seen the ads in magazines and in the Cabela's book and I just happened to get mine due to a Realtree member having trouble making it fit his bow. To me its a great drop-away and if I were to buy one today, it would be the trap door, hands down!
