ultratec1
Re: Wisdom Teeth Got mine done while in the military and they knocked me out. Thank god for that one. I'm just like you when it comes to having to be worked on. I had to have my toe worked on yesterday and I couldn't watch. Turned my head the whole time. Guest Finn
Re: Wisdom Teeth Got em all out when I was 20. The worst part was the IV they put in my hand...but the morphine drip was excellent. Need a 6 pack of that stuff!
Guest cowpoke
Re: Wisdom Teeth The dentist removed mine 2 at a time. I can't remember if it was top first or bottom first. the first tow came out when I was a senior in high school the second two when I was a freshman in college. It was not any problem. huntinsonovagun
Re: Wisdom Teeth Funny you ask this....just had mine pulled today.(all 4 of them). Not that big of a deal. My brother and I had both of ours done today and we had our mom rolling!!! First of all, I walk in and the guy has duck pictures everywhere.....Must have been a hunter, and then when the nurse leaned me back, I see a fake duck (the head, breast, and legs...looking like it was landing) coming out of the ceiling, and I mentioned it to the nurse. A few minutes later after sniffing some of that gas I was out cold! That is some neat stuff!! Have fun with it! Anyway, next thing I know, my mom is talking to me while I'm waking up. She's said I kept saying something about ducks coming out of the ceiling and she thought I was helucinating (sp??). She said I kept asking what time it was every couple of minutes. She said I told her to "give me five" and she did.....not sure what I was thinking. Then she said I told her I wanted to sing, so I broke out in a song..."She thinks my tractor's sexy......." Then I started coming to a little more....and in walks my brother to lay down and get woken up. I vaguely remember pointing and laughing at him, and shaking his hand Don't ask why, but my mom sure was laughing! He kept trying to touch my face for some reason, and at one point tried to pull my mom to him to give her a kiss!! LOL He noticed a band-aid on his arm and pulled it off, and then tried to pull my band-aid off! Then he kept saying "I want a Bud Light"....which was out of the blue, but hey....it was funny. My mom was rolling the whole time! He was waving to anybody that walked by. I only had one bad experience throughout the day (other than being unable to eat much of anything) When we got home, I took a nap, got up and then got REAL nautious (sp again????) I thought I was gonna ralph, my vision screwed up really bad, and I got real hot. My mom said I turned white as a sheet. After that I've been pretty fine, other than a little sore in my jaw. It ain't all that bad.... Just have whoever takes you take a video camera! Maybe that's why they call it laughing gas???????
Alisha
Re: Wisdom Teeth Had all 4 of mine cut out 3-4 years ago and I had NO fun with it at all. They put me to sleep, I vaguely remember them putting me in my moms vehicle... and then I remember waking up on the couch sometime later that evening. Like mentioned above by huntin'sonovagun - I too felt as though I was going to be sick when I first woke up and was talking a bunch of nonsense. Pretty funny stuff - according to mom! A few days down the road, (I was SICK of living on yogurt....) and just happened to be in the bathroom looking inside my mouth where the stitches were and noticed that one of them was dangling loosely so I grabbed the tweezers and pulled it out. I then noticed something else in there, so I grabbed ahold of it with the tweezers and started to pull it out as well. I kept pulling and pulling and my eyes started getting huge. LOL They had packed that paticular incision with gauze that had some sort of medication on it. *shrug* I think Dad said they put it there to stop the bleeding if it won't quit? LOL - I just remembered that when I was in the 9th grade...... a boy named Brian was sitting in my Space class and someone happened to mention that both of his cheeks were an odd shade of green!!! The teacher of that class told him to go to the office so he could call his parents and that they should probably take him to the doctor ASAP because he most likely had dry sockets.... which turned out to be the case. Anyway.....like someone else said - follow ALL the instructions given to you after they're removed! They give those to you for a reason! Good luck and let us know how it goes! Adjam5
Re: Wisdom Teeth I think it all depends on the dentist. You have a good gentle dentist then you'll have no problem. I had all 4 of my wisdoms pulled, by 3 different dentists. Why 3...the 1st 2 were HACKS. The last guy I found was out of my insurance network, but it was worth paying for, what I will stop short of saying it was a pleasurable experience. Night and day difference between the Dentists. No gas, a few shots in the mouth, and I didn't even know it was over. My guy was great. Hope you have a Dr like I had. BTW...I saved EVERY tooth that was EVER pulled from my mouth...its in my will to send them with me when I go to meet my maker. Wisdom teeth are huge comapred to the others. My urologist wouldn't let me keep my kidney stones, I had them 2x. He said they needed them for tests....DANG! Wanted to keep them in a jar, on the matle. Good conversation piece. I look at them like Human pearls Well...they do belong to me. I made them. Yes...I am a bit strange. But ain't we all?

oo_buck
Re: Wisdom Teeth Had mine done about 7 or 8 yrs ago. They knocked me out, and when I woke up they told me that they found a 5th one...... Somehow, with all of the x-rays, they didn't find it 'til the got in there..... So far, I've not run into anyone else with 5 wisdom teeth. Then again, this is about the only place we talk about that kind of stuff...... Orion_70
Re: Wisdom Teeth Had all 4 of mine pulled at the same time, 2 were partially impacted. It was over and done in no time, with just local anesthetics. I actually asked the dentist "that's it, you're done"

LifeNRA
Re: Wisdom Teeth I only ever had the lower ones, both of them impacted. They had to be cut out. I went to the hospital to have it done. I wanted to be KNOCKED OUT! After it was all done I was repairing the raditor hoses in my car that night. Which involves lots of pulling. Never bothered me. People react differently to wisdom teeth removal. My wife on the other hand was a basket case!
