TreeStandBowHunter
Alrighty folks. I see a post about favorite players. Let's hear who your favorite NHL team is. And for those of you into AHL, let's hear about them too. I gotta take the Boston Bruins and the Lowell LockMonsters unless Hershey comes up, then I would have to root for the Hershey Bears. I don't live at home anymore so I can't get to any Bears games. I do however live right below Lowell so being that we go to a bunch of games up there, it's kinda hard not to root for them
superguide
Re: NHL AND AHL I tend to pull for whatever AHL team our local boys are playing for-good news for Meadow Lake the Preds signed Jeremy Yablonski and The Wild drafted Kris Westbloom. Our little town of 5,000 sending somebody to the show just about every year. My NHL team is the OILERS.
muggs
Re: NHL AND AHL I love the Avalanche, mostly because of Joe Sakic and is wicked wrist shot. For AHL, I'm not a huge fan, but I'll follow the Hersey Bears, just to see you might be coming up to the lanche soon. Oh yeah, and the Red Wings suck, the Yankees of the N IMHO
SaskMan
Re: NHL AND AHL I like the Penguins and the Islanders. I know......neither have been any good for quite awhile. Maybe this yr for the pens, they do have a couple crackerjack Euro Dmen, Tarnstrom and Gonchar. They're 2 of superguide's faves.
superguide
Re: NHL AND AHL I guess you like them because you have lots of time to shedhunt while I'm stuck inside watching playoff hockey lol. We all know the greatest Islander's were Trottier,Bossy,Potvin-and even Super Mario isn't a european lol.

robk
Re: NHL AND AHL well if i have vote for an ahl team it would be the aeros. for my nhl teams i used to like the sents and the nucks but i have since changed my loyalty over to the stars and the wild and i have enjoyed watching the lightning and a couple of others i like because of the people on the the teams and i like watching all of them play but the team i followed the most is the okc blazers which is chl team and has been one of the highest drawing hockey clubs in a of minor leagues and for many years was a bigger draw than some of the nhl teams witht he old venues we had out there and we were averageing up to 14000 people and this is for a team that is called a aa team but we have had several players who have played down here and are now in the nhl and the lst was wade brookbank who lasted one season before he went up. my kids played i played and we love to watch and enjoy going or i used too but today i am not going out as much and missed most of last season with the blazers rob k
pa_sportsman
Re: NHL AND AHL I'll cast another vote for the Penguins...Pittsburgh and Scranton-Wilkes-Barre. I'm looking forward to the start of this season. With Crosby, Recchi, Palffy, Gonchar, Thibault and Lemieux [on occasion], this will hopefully be a good year. I wish Alexei Kovalev was there as well. Superguide, you forgot Bobby Nystrom. lol I spent alot of years indoors watching playoff hockey and truth be told I'd rather be outside shed hunting now anyways, regardless how my teams are doing. superguide
Re: NHL AND AHL Ohh I didn't forget him I just didn't want to name the entire roster-they were awesome-Butch Goring with his minor hockey helmet. I still remember some of Nystrom's OT goals or Gillies patrolling his wing.

VermontHunter
Re: NHL AND AHL [ QUOTE ] Ottawa SENS are the new cup champs this year! [/ QUOTE ] LOL....Muff fell out of his treestand again, and hit his head multiple time on the way down.... This years CUP Champs will be the Bruins,, I think they are the only team that didn't loose more than half of their team..... As you might tell the Boston Bruins have been my favorite since childhood and continue to be even if Harry Siden has done his best to ruin this team in the past.... As for the AHL, I don't get to see much of their play but when I do,,,,,I always look for the Providence Bruins of course.... Nice Jersey Mike,,,,real sharp... ,,I'll have to post pics of mine and the wifes...
Bob LeBlanc
Re: NHL AND AHL Wow!!!...Pittsburgh is up to something with the guys they've picked up!! Maybe they're just trying to deflect some of the pressure and attention Sidney is gonna get...but with their Leclaire and Thebeau deals, they're really starting to look like a team trying to make it happen! VermontHunter
Re: NHL AND AHL You really think there Bob,,,I just found out that the wobbling birds,,just picked up LeClair...If they think that's a solution to their problems they are in for one heck of a nasty season... Bob LeBlanc
Re: NHL AND AHL Naw...I don't think Leclaire would be the solution to any team's problems...but I read it as a team that is trying to add depth / experience to a very junior roster. I have met Sidney and know what he is capable of, but he is gonna need some journeyman protection...not on the ice, per se, but in the media room. He IS the second coming, but like any 18 year old, will need to mature into the NHL level of play. At least Leclaire will be able to deflect some of the media attention, either through stepping up his level of play because of the 'kid's' influence...or because of non-performance. I think it was a savvy move by Mario... Bob
Guest TBryan
Re: NHL AND AHL Tampa Bay is my team!!!! I cant get enough of St. Louis and Lecelvier. I dont have a favorite AHL team but we have a NAHL Junior A league team here called the Texas Tornado. I love going to thier games. They were 61-15-2 on thier way to winning the championchip last season.
Shaun_300
Re: NHL AND AHL Definetly the Ottawa Senators! It's nice living only 15 minutes from the Corel Center, and my dad's company has a box! Free food and beer.
VermontHunter
Re: NHL AND AHL [ QUOTE ] Naw...I don't think Leclaire would be the solution to any team's problems... [/ QUOTE ] Then why pay for that big contract if he's not going to be part of the solution.... [ QUOTE ] but I read it as a team that is trying to add depth / experience to a very junior roster. [/ QUOTE ] From what I see on thier roster,,,,They have a decent speedy team,,this LeClair is not,,,,and now with the red line removed this is going to be even more of a hinderence to Leclair..... [ QUOTE ] At least Leclaire will be able to deflect some of the media attention, either through stepping up his level of play because of the 'kid's' influence...or because of non-performance. [/ QUOTE ] Again if they aquired LeClair as a media scape goat becuase of bad performance , to me this is a waste of team resources and don't see this as a very savvy move on Mario's part at all...... I think LeClair would have been a better fit in NJ, with the bulk of players they have,,,NJ isn't the finese team that the Pens. are....and LeClairs bulk and size would have a better fit in NJ to me...
