I know who I would like to get a call from and he knows who he is ....RIGHT huntn4bucks ..... grin.gifgrin.gifwink.gif

Can't wait to see pics of this call,,,,These generic ones that are mass manufactured just don't seem to hold a candle to the craftsmanship of a person putting his heart and soul into a great Turkey call,,,JMO of course... wink.gif

Re: Think I\'ll build a call today................

I just had a friend give me a hand-made call. It really meant a lot to me. It's made out of Rose wood. I will take a pic and post it sometime this week. Just the labor and effort put into them is great and I would be so happy if I could get a gobbler next spring with this new call. What a treat smile.gif

You\'re the best Dean!

Had a nice surprise in the mailbox today! I know you've already heard it Dean, but thanks so much! Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. I will treasure it always! Thanks Pal!

For those who don't know or remember, my girlfriend had bought me a coin on Ebay because she thought it would give me good luck turkey hunting. Well, I'll never head to the turkey woods without it. And thanks to Redbeard, it has taken on new meaning!

I took a Maine and New Hampshire bird with that coin in my pocket and called in two others in Maine for my nephew and my Dad. Definitely a lucky coin! Well, Dean offered to do me up one of his gorgeous calls with my coin embossed in it. It didn't take long for an answer.lol!

His stories of turkey hunting and his advice always fills my mind in the Spring woods. He gave me a broadened insight to the majestic bird we love to chase and I've always admired the respect he gives to the great outdoors.

Now I can carry the love of the special woman in my life and the treasured friendship of a fellow hunting pal all in one next Spring and the many to follow! In addition, there are only 3 turkey tracks in remembrance of my beloved hero Dale. He loved the woods just as much as we all do.

Thanks again Dean!

The antler base on the striker is from a small shed I found at a dusting site after spooking a Tom off of it while scouting a few Springs ago. These pics do not do the call it's deserved justice. It's a beautiful piece! The card with the call is my "certificate of authenticity" from Dean. Does that not remind you of ol Redbeard or what!

Very nice work Dean!

A very personal call. That's makes a guy's hunting expereience all that much more special.

What do you have in your woodshop for equipment to crank out those beautiful calls? I'm looking at a few upgrades and additions this year. After building several cabinets for the house my wife wants me to build her a China hutch. I told her I would but need a few additional pieces of equipment to pull it off. wink.gif

Re: You\'re the best Dean!

All I got is a drill press, forster bit set and dremmel tool and a handy little bit for a hand drill that spins that sucker round and round to make sanding easier. Needless to say, my basement gun room/workshop/junk room stays pretty messy. Someday when I can afford it, I'll put me a little workshop out back, buy a lathe and become bonified.....hopefully.
