Norm Sauceman
OK folks, we have another disabled person who needs our help. His address is on the bottom of his letter adn I will help in any way I can...except for running...LOL Email me if you need anything from me but be advised of my situation and it could be days before I get back to you. Thanks folks!! Norm. I am an Unemployed Disabled Veteran. I live in Iowa and so being a disabled veteran they have a Lifetime Hunting and fishing license for anyone that takes a hunting safety course. Which I have taken and so I have this lifetime hunting and fishing license. But because I am Unemployed because of my Service Connected Disabilities, I do not have anything needed to use the hunting part of the lifetime license. Like the clothes, safety gear, like the orange vest or what ever, or more importantly a gun or bow. I have never owned a gun because before I joined the Navy, my mom did not like guns, and so no one in my family had a gun. And for some reason she would not buy me a bow either. So anyway after serving in the Navy for over 11 years, I come home only to find no one will hire me because of my Back problems, and some of my other service connected disabilities, mostly because of the back though. I have been out of the Navy now for all most 8 years. So anyway being a life member with North American Hunting Club for about 9 or 10 years I thought I would try to see if they could help me. They (North American Hunting Club) recommended I post something on their bulletin board. So I did and this is when Ken Zeringue contacted me and said I should contact you at DHNA, so here I am. Can you guys help me at all? If so I could really use everything needed to go hunting. About the only thing I have that could be used is an old pair of Flight Deck boots that are all most as good as hiking boots. But as I said, they are old. I have had them since half my tour of duty on my first ship. And that was from 1986-1990. If I remember right I think I got them in 1988 or 1989. But I will greatly appreciate what ever help I can get. Steven
Re: Hunter Alert again. Special Request!!! Maybe you could contact him and get clothing sizes and specifics for a bow (draw length and such). It'd be easier than him having to respond to a bunch of emails asking the same questions. I have a bow I will send him if the length is right for him. It's a Fred Bear Quest, 27-29", 65 lb draw. Fully decked out and ready for the woods (including case, arrows and heads) It's about 7 years old, but it's been babied since I bought it and looks and shoots like new. I also have some camo I could shoot his way, so long as he's short and fat like me. I'll be heading back out on the road tonight and will be back home Saturday, so you may want to send me a PM about this, in case I forget to check back. Steven
Re: Hunter Alert again. Special Request!!! Ronald, sorry for the slow response from me, I drive a tractor trailer and am only home on weekends. At 5'11" the draw should work for you, I'm 5'9" and have it set on the shortest setting (just take it to an archery shop or to a friend who knows bows and they can help you get everything set up for your needs). It's a right handed bow, meaning drawn with right hand and held in the left. I'll send that your way along with some camo. The sizes should work out for you. Afew years ago, I went on a camo buying frenzy, so I'll be able to send pants, a shirt or 2, a pair of insulated bibs and a jacket. It will be next weekend before I can get them out and I'll be sending them registered so someone will need to sign for them. I hope this will serve you well, Ronald.
