Saturday, I got a piece of mail from Cabela's. It was a grand opening for some of their new stores. Anyways, if you spend a certain amount you can get this gift card! Well two weeks ago I dropped $725 on various stuff for bow season, stand, safety equipment, ect. So I call their main customer service number and ask them if my purchase was available for this, the guy on the phone says he cant make my purchase retroactive. Then I call the Hamburg store where I bought all this. I asked for customer service, they check with the store manager. She gets back on the phone and says, if I would bring my receipt and this un-activated gift card they will HONOR IT! I told the wife ROAD TRIP!!! LOL!!! Since my purchase was over $500 before taxes, I GOT A $150 FREE GIFT CARD!!! Talk about AWESOME!!! I spent $130 of it right away on some camo shirts, light weight gloves, and a pair of camo rubber boots for bow season!!! Man this was great!!!

Sweet. Cabelas always seems to do right by their customers, unlike Nikon.

What has Nikon done to you confused.gif

Rangefinder broke, sent it away, I got a letter back saying the repair will cost $176! New one costs $199. Some bargain, eh? I've been a Nikon customer all my life. Not anymore. mad.gif

tominator: I have been a Nikon fan for years because they have stood behind their product: Give us some more info: Word of mouth travels fast!!! I had a pair of Nikon binoculars and due to my own neglect, (or the unlikelyhood of there being a pond under my bow stand) my right lens got fogged up: I sent a letter to Nikon along with my dropped binocs...and I had a new set at my door 8 days later: The real kicker, they also sent a pair of Nikon Binoc straps and an appology letter: I would say to dig a little deeper, or let us know if they have changed that much! As I said, word of mouth goes a long way :-)

Now that was a smart manager!

They gave you $150 which essentially means their cost of that card was $75 or so, if not more. So they gave away $75 to retain a customer and sell a bunch more later that is marked up 100%.

SMART! laugh.gif That's why Cabelas is where they are.....

I will pursue this Tony, trust me. I want to settle down before I answer their correspondence. Every time I go to write a return letter, my blood pressure goes up 100 points. grin.gif I want my response to be clear, concise, fair, but more importantly effective in getting my point across. I really don't think that rangefinder broke through any fault of mine. I think it was defective.

Hope none of that stuff you bought ever breaks. Cabelas doesn't carry replacement parts. At least that's what they told me about my stand that's only a year old. I'll never waste my money there again.

HUH??? confused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gif

What stand? I just bought a Summit. They have everything I need to replace the cable to the seat! Besides, what else can they not have!?!? Actually they cant have everything, but there close. I can honestly say, they have done everything I could think of to make me happy! If I were you I would contact customer service. Here is their number, 1-800-237-8888. Tell them about your stand. They might have it! Then again, think about how many items in total they carry. You might have to get a hold of the manufacture of your stand! Hey its only a year old!

Why dont you contact the stand manufacture? confused.gif
