I didn't do anything, just happened to be the next guy in line for a mandatory check. But anyway, I think this guy is going to think twice before he stops and out of stater again grin.gif

So he pulls me over and of course I still have North Carolina plates on my truck. I have a Massachusetts inspection sticker, I have a "expired"..."way expired", Pennsylvania drivers lincense...or so he thought grin.gif I had to tell him that as long as your on Active Duty, your PA drivers lincense is still good even if it runs out. It ran out in '95 grin.gif. I had to explain the inspection sticker...well duh, I am not in NC to get my truck re-inspected so I need to abide by the law right and get a sticker from the state I am in grin.gif

Anyway, he was cool though. Actually, he was a heck of a nice guy. We talked a little bit about the war and stuff. He was a retired Navy Chief so we had a "little" bit in common. He was just a little confused at first that's all...took about 1/2 hour to figure it all out grin.gif I am glad they do that though, keeps people on thier toes grin.gif

Last time I got stopped in a mandatory seatbelt check it was almost as bad.I was the passenger, we had the work truck, and the guy driving apparently had a warrant out for some unpaid fines. They arrested him, told me to take the van home which was about 50 miles away, and turned me loose.I was about 5 miles from the checkpoint before it dawned on me I didnt even have a drivers license and they never asked to see mine grin.gif

That's pretty wild Mike. I've only been stopped once on a mandatory. I was a walkin', drivin' violation. Poor college student, my brake lights didn't work, my exhaust was practically gone, I had a headlight out, no insurance (not mandatory back then, just stupid) and I was coming home from a pheasant hunting trip the Monday after Thanksgiving. Anyone from Ohio will tell you you're not allowed to hunt small game during deer gun season, and I totally forgot.

I got a ticket for the exhaust, so I got off reeeeeaaaaallllllly easy. Lucky, real lucky. I vowed to get my car fixed up and buy insurance, had to borrow some money from the Dad Bank, but it was a lesson in life that's for sure.
