WaCoyote
Re: A Troop Supporter ?? [ QUOTE ] This whole thing has turned into a media circus, and frankly, I'm tired of hearing about it. [/ QUOTE ] Ummm..... You posted it in the first place. Now since you have no valid point to make your sick of it? Good, now we wont have to read any more of the same ol..same ol... Bush Lied... I love the troops not the war... Protesters are patriotic.... Shehan is my hero... Bad intelligence... Bush lied... Bush lied... Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. There would never be any war that everybody agrees with whether they are in the service or not. It would be impossible. I don't support the war. I think it sucks. But at least I get it. I understand it. I served in the 82nd and I had friends in the first war and friends in this war. They are the reason I hate it. Because they are doing the dying. I cannot stand you sniveling little liberals who whine continuously and never have a solution. Bush lied about this, Bush lied about that. That kid VOLUNTERED!! He knew the deal. He is why war sucks. But to use him as an antiwar posterboy is disgusting. We have no idea how he felt about the war. We will never know. I don't care what has been reported. He paid the ultimate price, now his mom is pulling this? It all makes me sick to my stomach. How does all this constant negative news affect these kids who are fighting. Does it make them feel supported? YOU my friend, are hurting them, the ones who are sacrificing everything. The ones who are DYING while your in school. The ones who are KILLING so you don't have to. The ones who are losing everything while you are out in the woods hunting deer, not Taliban. How does your griping help THEM??? It doesn't. Let the man rest in peace already. slugshooter
Re: A Troop Supporter ?? [ QUOTE ] Now since you have no valid point to make your sick of it? [/ QUOTE ] I've got plenty of valid points, the fact is, she has every right to be out there regardless of how you feel "the troops" feel about it. Maybe her son wouldn't like her out there, maybe he would, every one else on here seems to think he wouldn't, all I have said is that none of us know how he would feel and we shouldn't pass judgement on someone we don't know. [ QUOTE ] Bush Lied... I love the troops not the war... Protesters are patriotic.... Shehan is my hero... Bad intelligence... Bush lied... Bush lied... [/ QUOTE ] He admitted the intelligence was bad, enough said. Patriotism is not owned by conservatives or republicans, I love my country, noone can tell me different, not even you. [ QUOTE ] I don't support the war. [/ QUOTE ] You don't!! Then how can you come on here and give me crap for my views. Sounds to me like you have some issue. I don't support it either, maybe for different reasons, but I don't go out and protest, because I know the troops have to go over there without question, and I know they have to put up with garbage over there that most people will never encounter. It is possible to show troops support even if you don't agree with the war they are fighting, regardless of what Sean Hannity says. [ QUOTE ] I served in the 82nd [/ QUOTE ] Cool, I probably loaded you on an airplane then at some point. [ QUOTE ] I cannot stand you sniveling little liberals who whine continuously and never have a solution. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know about the sniveling part, but I haven't been little since I was about 5. But, since I'm not a liberal, and not sniveling, I'll just chalk this one up to you being upset. [ QUOTE ] YOU my friend, are hurting them, [/ QUOTE ] How's that. I've never been to a protest , the only place I have voiced my opposition is in here because I have too much respect for the troops to stand out there in a picket line because I know they have an important job to do even if I don't agree with how the U.S. was sold into going into Iraq. [ QUOTE ] The ones who are DYING while your in school. [/ QUOTE ] I'm in school thanks to that lovely GI Bill that I got for serving my country in the Air Force. Don't accuse me of resting on my laurels and enjoying the good life in the U.S. and not having done anything. I served my country, I have earned the right to voice my opinion, dissenting or not. [ QUOTE ] Let the man rest in peace already. [/ QUOTE ] I agree.

[/ QUOTE ] I think that that may be the only statement that you'll ever say that I agree with. No I don't agree with the war. Because war is stink and filth and death. It is young kids who do the dying. That is why I don't support the war. BUT I GET IT. I UNDERSTAND IT. It is a necessary evil. If not now, when? If not them, who? I can't stand the war but I would never go around spewing the bs that you and yours do. These people have been coming after us for last 30 years at least. I'm almost 40 and remember ever since I was a kid that they've been attacking us. They are not the victims WE ARE and it's about darn time we start kicking ars. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's wrong. Maybe you'll figure that out once you out of school.
slugshooter
Re: A Troop Supporter ?? [ QUOTE ] Because war is stink and filth and death. It is young kids who do the dying. [/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately that is true, thats why, one, I do believe the minimum age for enlistment should be 21, of course, that would mean the voting age would probably go up, which, in retrospect, probably would be a good thing since a lot of 18 year olds out there today I am surprised they can find the voting booth. I may not have any first hand knowledge of war or whats going on over there, but the terrorism conference I attended back in May opened my eyes to some of the things going on in Iraq, the only problem was it was exclusivley about Iraq, what about Afghanistan, that's turning into a modern day Korea. [ QUOTE ] BUT I GET IT. I UNDERSTAND IT. It is a necessary evil. If not now, when? If not them, who? [/ QUOTE ] I understand that war is necessary sometimes also, but the objective needs to be clear, the exit strategy needs to be clear, all possibilities need to be examined. They were so sure of the intelligence going in, how could they not know of the insurgency after the fact. Did they hope that once they got Hussein it would all end. Hussein was a dictator limited by his own delusions. Bin Laden is the one we should have focused on and stayed focused on. [ QUOTE ] I can't stand the war but I would never go around spewing the bs that you and yours do. [/ QUOTE ] And what is the BS that me and mine spew. I don't speak out against the troops. I speak out against the reasons Bush gave us for going into Iraq that have proven to be false and that he has admitted were faulty. The fact that the War in Iraq has morphed into an offshoot of the War on Terror that was started after 9/11 is a convenience to George Bush, meanwhile, his popularity and support are waning. He is a lame duck already, maybe he should just stay in Texas until 2009, there's less heat there. [ QUOTE ] Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's wrong. Maybe you'll figure that out once you out of school. [/ QUOTE ] That statement could apply to you also. Just because you don't see eye to eye with me doesn't mean that what I say is wrong. Just because Cindy Sheehan doesn't agree with the war and wants to know what her son died for doesn't make her wrong for being out there in Texas in August. She's a stronger person than me, I would have done caved in from the heat, but when you want something, you see it through to the end. I'm almost 30 years old, don't mistake me for some kid who just separated and is still wet behind the ears. I understand a lot more than you think I do. WaCoyote
Re: A Troop Supporter ?? Please tell me a war that had an exit strategy. That is some lame brained fish hack term the press dreamt up. When we win. I have to go to bed since I have a business to run, and taxes to pay, youngster.
