Guest Racksnbeards
My brother-n-law recently aquired a .280 he was able to get one box of shells, on the box it says .280 or 7mm express. .280 shells are hard to come by around here so can he buy 7mm shells and shoot in it. OJR
Re: Cartridge Question NO! He can use the old 7mm Express, but that is the same as the 280! You cannot use the 7mm Mag ammo! Remington called the 280 the 7mm Express for some time and then went back to the 280. It might be hard to get ammo in certain locations for it. AJ
Re: Cartridge Question The .280 Remington is known as the 7mm-06, 7mm Express, or the .280 Remington. Cartridges that will not work are: 7x57 Mauser 7-08 Remington 7mm STW 7mm SAUM 7mm Remington Magnum 7mm Weatherby Magnum 7mm STW 7mm Remington Ultra Mag Check a few gun shops, I am sure someone has the ammo. Its not that uncommon. Worst case he can mail order it from any Cabelas, Bass Pro, Natchez, Midway, Midsouth Shooters, etc.
