Team Realtree
I will be hunting with Realtree Pro Staffer Steve Beilgard in Wyoming for pronghorn the 2nd week of September. If you are familiar with North American Hunting TV, you are be familiar with Steve and their success rate on huge bucks taken with a bow. The best thing about this hunt is that every penny raised will be sent straight to Moderator Norm Sauceman to help with his recovery from the back problems. Steve (or Realtree) will keep nothing. I know this is late, but I would love to see one or two of you guys join us. He is currently on his yearly trip to Alaska, but here is a quote taken from his email to me about this offer late last week: We need to emphasize the special hunt we'll be on. we're on unhunted land for 30 years, with us being the only exception. we can (almost) promise a b&c head. this is a great opportunity for some lucky guy. 2 hunters would also be fine. we have lots of animals. in fact, i think we'll see 200 to 300 each day. anyone who can hit a dinner plate at 30 yards or less WILL get a nice antelope. in 40 years of guiding, only david blanton didn't fill a tag.... and i messed it up for him. we were on a 17 3/4 to 18" buck, and i grabbed his arm as he was drawing back. worst mistake ever, but such is life...... anyway, if you'd like to promote something, please do it. i'll be out of touch for a week, so just proceed. it's time for my annual pilgrimage to my alaska property. maybe we'll get into that some day in the future. but i'm gone from noon tomarrow for a week. should be 3 months, but i'm just too busy to retire. got to get over that..... i need more hunting & fishing time. I'll just be the guide. anyway, i think we can do a week long, or 10 day auction type of hunt. winner will have to pay some extra expenses: license, travel, taxidermy, etc. little stuff. Food lodging and the hunting will be included. I will arrive with Tom Lewis from Gray Loon Marketing on September 13th (my birthday, and what a great present!), we will shoot some on the 14th, hunt the 15th-17th and fly out on the 18th. The hunt is near Gillette. So there you have it. If you want to enter a bid, we wish you luck and hope to see you. S

Leo
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman The term "back problem" is technically accurate but I fear this fails to adequately describe the seriousness of Norm's condition. For those who don't know I will elaborate a little. This cut and paste from www.DHNA.org [ QUOTE ] My name is Norm Sauceman. I am the President and Founder of the DHNA. I was involved in an industrial accident. After 20 operations and 26 plates, pins and screws along with 6 bone-graphs, and a lot of pain, I soon realized that we with disabilities have a hard time accessing the outdoors. It then became my mission in life to make accessing the outdoors a reality for disabled hunters. [/ QUOTE ] I will tell you Norm's organization has done just that for me. I will also tell you that the number of pins, screws and surgeries listed in the above quote doesn't include his most recent. This man is hurting bad. He absolutely deserves this noble campaign. It's about time he gets a payback for all the good he has done.

ruttinbuc
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Darn. I'll be in Kansas the week of the tenth on a muzzleloader hunt. If I knew I could swing it I'd bid. We'll see where it goes. I'll make a contribution at the end of the auction regardless. .

Tominator
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Well, I don't have the cash to win this auction, and I couldn't get the time away from the school season anyway, , but as I stated before, I'll donate the proceeds from my sweetcorn sales this summer to Norm and this hunt. So far my sales are right around $80, I think I could bump that to $100, so put me down for $100 to the winner.

BuckNrut
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman When does the auction end? Also, I'd need to check my overall financial situation before bidding. Sounds like a great opportunity, and for a good cause too.
Newarcher
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman I wish I could bid but I cannot...too many drags on the finances. However, Realtree should contact Norm to see if the contribution could be made to Norm's charity/foundation on his behalf. That would make it tax deductible--provided Norm's foundation is a charitable organization. If so, that will help the bidders be able to get their bid up. New [/ QUOTE ] I know you mean well Newarcher. Here is a little more info that I don't think Norm will offer up himself. Norm has been ordered off work by the doctors and has no income right now. A tax deduction is meaningless when there is nothing to deduct from. DHNA has a Paypal account on their website, they are a charitable organization and donations are tax deductible. If some Realtree folks want to contribute to that great. But know that Norm doesn't use those funds for himself. This fundraiser auction is specifically for Norm Sauceman and I would suggest that to best benefit him personally it stay that way. Some members adding to the winning bid just to contribute is an excellent gesture. I applaud everyones participation.
Jeramie
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman God bless you norm. And scott, my hats off to the Realtree gang. You continue to step up to the plate and reach out. God bless all of you. I can by no means afford the time or funds for this hunt (even though its a once in a lifetime deal for the lucky winner). I of course will pledge a little money on top of the winning bid. Thanks again for being a great orginization and god bless.
Newarcher
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Leo, Actually I was talking about the tax deduction for the person contributing the money via the bid. Instead of the winner making the check payable to Norm personally, they could make it to Norm's foundation, which is tax deductible. Since it would be earmarked for Norm personally, I don't think anyone there (if there is anyone) would have a problem with Norm taking the money. We do this with missionaries that our church supports. If they have a special need, a member might want to personally contribute to that need. The member writes a check to the church, which in turn issues a check to the specific missionary. Voila tax deductible whereas a personal check to the missionary directly would not be. That way the bidder could either get a tax deduction for the bid or even increase their bid by the amount of their tax deduction to give Norm even more money. Helps everyone and shafts the IRS at the same time! That cannot be beat. New
Newarcher
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Also, I can only assume that this will be a taped hunt that Realtree will produce either in an RT video somewhere or at least edit a nice DVD for the lucky hunter to keep. That would fetch an even better price. Heck while you are at it, throw in a complete set of Mossy Oak camo for the winner..... Just kidding but I can only assume this will be a taped hunt and that would add money to my bid if I got to be on a tv show or got a professionally produced and edited DVD of my hunt....kind of like a Road Trips setup. You got the equipment and the expertise. New
Team Realtree
Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Because Steve and I discussed this through email the night before he left, I don't have specifics yet. As far as tags, I'm not sure. Usually you have to draw, but private landowners get some to use at their discretion (I believe). We will have to wait until Steve gets back to find out. As far as being filmed, I am not sure. We won't have cameras there, but that doesn't mean someone else won't. S
