Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman

Well I simply can't go hunting on those dates unless I give up shinning the seat of a tractor every year trying to get all our food plots planted, etc. down here but...........count me in for a donation of $100 toward the cause. wink.gif

I also will donate something to the final bid. I don't know much about Norm, but I would never want to see anyone in that kind of pain.

The bidding for the Auction will end at midnight September 01/05

And for all of us who are adding donations to this cause, we'll have Sept 01 as an ending point for that too, just so it's easier to keep track of things.

Scott or Steve will post the winning bid, plus a list of the donors and a final Tally when it's over wink.gif

Thank you

Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman

Norm helped me last fall when I found out my wife was diagnosed with a lung disease called pulmonary fibrosis. I was very scared about losing her and having to raise my son alone.

Norm's spirituality helped me get through the scare and things are not as bleak as they seemed at the time.

Norm was there for me when I needed him. I'm glad to be able to help a little and I'll be sending some $ to help as I can.

God Bless you Norm!

Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman

well guys. time for a little side note.

we had the best spring and summer in wyoming in 35 years. horn growth is phenomenal. biggest bunch of bucks i've ever seen.

so, about a week ago, i contacted scott with an idea. if the winning bidder did not get a pope & young entry to take home, i'd refund 50% of his winning bid. well, scott didn't really think i should do that, and i actually agree. but the thought is the same. this is some lucky guys chance to get the buck of a lifetime.

remember, this hunt is not only for forum members. if you have a rich friend who you know likes to hunt, tell him about this one time special offer. norm deserves our best effort! countdown is on........

Well, now that youre done, could you possibly let me know what your plan was? I honestly never figured it out. I guess im a moron...lol

OK, it's simple, well, not really. Half of the story is simple. The other half I can't tell you about until I get the all clear from another forum member.

Most of you know about my cancer trouble. Well last year in the late winter my doctors determined that I needed another neck surgery to clear some cancer that they suspected had spread throughout the lymph nodes in my neck. Well, one night in kind of a panic I came to the forums and posted my story looking for moral support. As always y'all came to my rescue. My doctor at the time recommended that I go to MD Anderson which is in Houston Texas. I didn't know what kind of insurance coverage I was going to have and what kind of other expenses I was going to have. When I posted that, all of a sudden, guys like my buddy Tom and Gary started fundraiser stuff just like we're doing for Norm. Needless to say, a lot of money came pouring in. I can tell you it was just a bit over $3,000.00. Turns out there was a surgeon right here in Columbus that did the surgery so I didn't have to go to Texas. Anyway, my wife used some of that money for meals, parking, etc. while I was in the hospital. I didn't feel right spending that money on myself, and offered to send it back. Not one person wanted it back. I spent some money to take my two best hunting pals out to Illinois last year to hunt with LLBUX, and I bought a new Summit stand because of some nerve damage in my right shoulder, and I sent some of it to Horst when his little boy ran into his troubles last year. Other than that, the excess money was just sitting in the bank, and like I said, I just didn't feel right spending it on myself.

When this auction for Norm came up I decided to keep bidding until it got to the point where my savings account and the excess money was gone.

So that's the story.

The money's still sitting there, and it will be used for another good cause some day. I promise.
