CVA Wolf?

A buddy of mine has been shopping for a ML. He is very new to hunting. He is literally late 30's and still has yet to kill a deer. He grew up without a dad and im his mentor.

He ran across a buy at walmart for a CVA wolf (mag) for $129. It is a break over and looks a lot like the Optima. I thought he looked at the price wrong so today while I was picking up plot stuff I looked at the ML'ers. Sure enough. CVA has a break over that looks just like the Optima for $129.99.

Anyone have any input on these? I know there are some that are less then CVA fans but this guy literally has one ML, A bobcat, I gave him last year. This would be a huge step for him...

What do you think?

Scarry, I know! tongue.gif

Actually I bought the CVA Optima for $100. It was to clean to pass up for that price.

Im still leaning toward the H&R. I want to buy a .223 and then add the ML barrel. Im thinking about getting the Rifle for Christmas.

The ML barrel will be added next year and the $100 Optima will just be another in my effort to own every firearm ever made.... grin.gif

Re: CVA Wolf?

I just bought the Kodiak after a lot of research. It is nice and light and the primer is protected from the elements. One thing that steered me away from the cheaper CVA's was the stock is hollow and if a branch or anything scrapes it it will make a lot of noise. This is my first ML and I have only put a few rounds through but I like what I see so far. Another thing is the easy of cleaning the Kodiak. Good luck with whatever he buys.
