Im very interested in fleching my own arrows, what is the difference between straight , right and left fletching, what should be done and how long of fletchings, 4 or 5 inch? I use a wisker biscuit and am not sure if i should be shooting straight fletch or what? I was going to buy a jig for doing maybe 12 arrows a year or so and wondered also if i should by one for a single arrow or for muliptle??

The choices are ours, straight, left or right, and 4 or 5'', buy the best jig you can afford, if your only doing a few arrows, an arizona jig will handle your needs. I have used all of them and i like the bitzengurger the best, but they are more expensive, but well worth it.

Re: Fletching Arrows

For shooting a biscuit the best jig for it would be the straight jig. If you buy a straight jig and a right jig that will be all you will ever need. You might check into Bohning Killer vanes or Bohning Blazer vanes. Both are very strong and hold up well thru the biscuit. With the straight jig you will want to create what is called and offset which means the vane will be straight but it will be set at a degree of offset which you choose. PM me if you have any more questions.
