Couldn't pass it up.

Was at a pawn shop today and found a Braztech 22 youth for $50. It was in about 90% shape and I was looking for a youth rifle for my daughter. It's not exactly what I wanted, but cost 2/3-3/4 less than what I was planning on spending.

Does anyone know if you can swap out the barrels for these. Their websight says that they have a barrel accessory program, but it's not on-line yet.

I'd like to get aa 243 barrel for it later if I can.

Re: Couldn\'t pass it up.

johnf,

Is this the Rossi? I think that is what is on my 10 year olds gun also. If it is then they do have other bbl's upi can get for it but I will say this, they are so lite that the recoil is very bad. I got the .410/.22 combo and the 3 bl gun with a 3" .410 shell will hit me harder then any 3" 20 ga ever.

Then again, Jimmy (my 3rd son) is so much like me that he thinks that if it goes bang then he is happy.

Frank.

How do you think a 243 or 223 would kick with this thing?

It depends on what its fed. The .223 Rem is not anything nasty. The .243 Win can generate some thump when fed the 100 gr bullets, but its not extremely bad. Start them out with 55 gr varmint ammo and over the summer gradually work them into the heavier stuff. Take your time and don't force the issue.

Do you have any idea what the barrels cost for the rossi?

I would expect the rifle or slug barrels to be between $75 and $100 per barrel. The shotgun barrels should be between $35 and $50.
