BowJoe
Re: Luckiest shot ever? Braggin time for us all... I had another lucky shot happen the other day. I was changing sights on my bow and hadn't yet tried to shoot out to 40 yet.I wanted to make sure my 20 and 30 were dead on before I tried my 40 so as to have a little bit of my form down and build up my confidence. Well evidently I over did it because after moving my 40 pin to approximately where I thought it should be, I drew back and drilled the exact center of the black dot on my Block target. I just put my bow up and went home. You just can't improve on perfection.
Guest 2500HD
Re: Luckiest shot ever? Braggin time for us all.. Last day of bow season a couple years ago I got realy lucky with a shot. I had passed deer all year hunting horns only then gun season comes and i still have no horns so I decide I need meat in the freezer its game on for the next doe. Now that I'm ready to take one of the 30+ does i passed on earlier i never get another shot. Its the last day, last 5 minutes and finally I have several deer cruise by. I pick the largest doe and at 35 yrds I let the arrow fly. I didn't see the small branch in front of me and the arrow glanced off it sailing the arrow about 10' over her back and she took off. She went about 15' and fell over stone DEAD. No kicking or anything...just down? I had no clue what happened other than i scared her to death. Got down and she was down but no hole. Looked for several minutes before we noticed the entry/exit near the top of her back. Seems the arrow glanced off a second branch above her and the arrow hit her severing her spine I guess and she was done. Only bad shot i have ever turn out right! Tom2008
Re: Luckiest shot ever? Braggin time for us all.. My step dad shot a buck one year all he could see was the top of the antlers so he aimed down a bit and he got it through 1 eye and out through the other. That was a messy kill. hutchies
Re: Luckiest shot ever? Braggin time for us all.. J.B.-You are starting to sound like Jason that was on the lease last year that shot at a 12 point at 400 yards. He said he could see it so well that he could tell how long the G2's were. He was only using a 3-9X40 scope.
VTbowman
Re: Luckiest shot ever? Braggin time for us all.. I also had one as a boy when I 1st started shooting. I lived in a small neighborhood with houses stacked on top of each other. Ok maybe not that close but no more then 20 yards wall to wall apart. I shot a big ole gray squirrel off the dog house roof of the guys house that was 2 yards away. I figured it to be about 65+ yards. Once in a life time. I got in trouble for that one... Did not see the owner of the dog house standing between his house my our next door neighbors. LOL Great shot though... LOL
