You have to remember that the initial cost won't cover the film and the batteries, and they get used up in a hurry: will you be able to buy film, process the film and put batteries in your cam? You have to remember all that comes into the motion cams: If you are serious about putting one out, and will check it weekly (at least) I know the stealth cams are fairly inexpensive: Let me know if you are able to do this and I'll find you a good deal: Just wanted to make sure you know there is a lot more then the cost of the camera....
