spyderpancake
Re: Aww man!!! It's a gray, we really don't have any other kinds in this area, in the longleaf pine areas they have some fox squirrels though.

Squirrelhunter91
Re: Aww man!!! LOL. Thanks for the pics spyder. I know what you mean about shots like that during the season. Here are some pics of a red squirrel ( extremely fast and hard to kill ) that I drove up to on the quad. Yet when I walk stealthily, you can't even get close to them. But, last year I did get a red :

I was at a rest area on I-20 in South Carolina a couple years back when I was a trucker, I was talking to my fleet manager on the phone and there was a big fat gray squirrel just hanging out 3 feet from me, staring at me cause he wanted a mini oreo from the bag I got outta the machine. I told my fleet manager that when I can't shoot em they're everywhere, but as soon as I go out into the woods I can't beg one to come out. P.S.- The cute little bugger did get an oreo. slugshooter
Re: Aww man!!! No, skipped the Busch race, I always wanted to go to Darlington, I wish I could say I enjoyed myself. Not knocking it or anything, the racing is always awesome there, but I was a little disappointed in the facilities. We sat on the backstretch, I can't remember the name of the grandstand. The one that used to have the roof over it coming out of turn two. Anyhoo, when we drove up to the track I wasn't sure it actually was the track, I mean, I saw grandstands and lights but the stands looked like a high school football field. I don't know if I'll make it back down there. There's a lot of other tracks I would like to visit before I go back, unfortunately I won't ever be making that 1 hour drive to Rockingham anymore, went there about 7 times, been to The Winston at Charlotte, back when Jr. won it his rookie year, Daytona once back in '92, and Martinsville once. For my next race I want to hit either Richmond or Dover. I guess the problem with Darlington is since it is so old, they just kinda got boxed in there on the backstretch, it's no wonder they moved the front to the other side a few years back, more room to expand. The really need to tear down those old backstretch stands though, the cool thing about it though is someone was sitting there back when Pearson and Petty were ruling the sport. spyderpancake
Re: Aww man!!! I know what you are saying. Pearson Tower and Wallace Grandstand on the other side of the track are a lot nicer, but they still need to be upgraded. They are talking about building some new ones, so we will see.The problem with Darlington is that they don't utilize the racetrack. Basically the only time it gets used is for the Nascar races once a year. The rest of the time it just sits there. If they would hold different things, like ARCA,USAC(that would be wild!)UARA Hooters Pro Cup, and all these differents racing leagues, then they would have a lot more revenue flowing in that they could use to upgrade. But ISC won't let us do anything but NASCAR. I think they are trying to phase us out so they can move our date somewhere else. They already got one, and then moved the Southern 500, people around here were not happy! All I can say is they better not try to close us if they don't want an uprising!
