Griz
I seem to be having some problems with my computor... My avatar won't work anymore. Heck as a matter of fact nobodys avatar works anymore. When I get a PM the mail icon doesn't flash like it use to... Any pictures I look at are fuzzy... And also I media player won't work either... What can I do to fix this thing... I have a hammer near by. Maybe the Monitor needs a little tap here and there... Really is there something I can do so it will put things back to working... Griz
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... Yeah, I've done that... I cleaned up all the cookies, ran a virus scan... It's like something is out of wack or going haywire...

VermontHunter
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... griz,,,, If you are running XP,,try using a recent restore point to see if that helps......you say you have done a virus scan and didn't detect any so restoring to a point of a couple days ago should fix the problem unless it a hardware problem..... bulldawg
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... Yesterday, Nortons caught a trojan virus trying to attack my system. Thank God for good firewalls!
ruttinbuc
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... Spybot....Search and Destroy is a program that cleans up all the junk and spyware that attaches itself to your computer. Some of this stuff can play havoc. I run the program every other day. Here is a link to the program. read and understand it and then download if you want. It is really pretty simple to use. Spybot
VermontHunter
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... Spybot and Adaware are 2 very good programs to have in the arsenal of our computer dilemas but I don't think it spyware that's the problem,,,,but hey why not try it I've heard of wierder things... I keep coming back and re-reading your post, and the more I read it, I still think it's a video problem,,but I don't understand why it would be acting this way out of the blue unless it's a hardware problem.....I'm assuming that you haven't updated the video drivers as of late......I'd still give the restore point option a try to see what happens..and as the others have said be sure your antivirus is up-to-date and redo a scan,,,,download and install spybot and adaware and up-date them also and run those scans......Wish I could be of more help,,,it really doesn't seem to be that big of a problem,,just one of those little pesky ones, that nag at you...... Griz
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... I have adaware on here. I ran it lastnight and it's still the same. Adaware did find 2 boogers in here. I figured after I took care of them that everything would be back to normal. WRONG...lol I have MacAfee's for a virus protection. It automatically updates for me... It's just odd that everything quit working all at once...

Gator
Re: Ok! What\'s the deal.... [ QUOTE ] There is something evil living in the machine!!! Run away while theres still time! [/ QUOTE ] Yep, and I k now what it is, it's that evil menace of a Chihuaha that he has, darn thing liked to have snacked on my fingers this weekend!!!!! Actually Griz, think it may have something to do with your dial-up, or your server. Everyones avatars used to work at my house, PM would blink, but not anymore. May have something to do with connection speed.
