slugshooter
What do ya'll think of Gov. Tafts recent ethics violations and the fact that even though he has fired others for lesser ethics offenses, he plans to finish out his term. Saw a little snippet that the legislature is considering impeaching him. I find it interesting that politicians of any party, when faced with charges that they have fired members of their staffs for, decide that what they did wasn't worse than what the people lower then them did. Like I said, he has fired members of his staff for ethics violations, shouldn't he give himself the same punishment and resign. I knew this was coming though the first time I heard of the rare coin scandal earlier this year.
muggs
Re: Hey Ohio Residents!! Very hypocritical, and I love the fact that he got caught. I always knew my tax dollars were picking up the tab for golf outings and vacations, I just never thought anything would change that. I say impeach him. Tominator
Re: Hey Ohio Residents!! It's embarassing. I wish there was a way I could take my vote back. I voted for a Republican, but taft has done terrible things for this state. Just shameful. I could go on and on, but it gets me pretty aggravated. slugshooter
Re: Hey Ohio Residents!! When I first read about the rare coin investment deal, it seemed like a pretty good idea. I mean, they were making money off of it to supplement some state employee funds, for all intents and purposes it was working, but I remember thinking that there was big room for impropriety, then a little later I heard there was some money and coins missing, and I thought, here we go. Now this, I truly don't understand why politicians in this day and age from any party think they can get away with stuff that in their minds is OK even though any rational human being can tell you it's wrong. I guess thats the problem, there aren't many rational human beings in politics anymore.

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, see it all the time. I think because they're elected they somehow think they're above the law. Regardless of party, they all do it. Kennedy, Tricky Dick, Slick Willy, now Taft. Happens in the local school boards too, but that's another story that really gets my blood going.
py_archer
Re: Hey Ohio Residents!! **** Bobby has just about put our state in the dumpster. Small business, whats that? Next year we will replace WV at the bottom. Anybody know anything about this Strickland guy? He's recently thrown his name in the hat. I understand he's for "letting the people decide". If not him you've got the three Republicans that are running (Montgomery, Blackwell and Petro), which will just be more of the same. Then theres that geek Coleman from Columbus. Whats his problem?
