Not to sound like a critic of what ya'll are saying, but whatever happened to sportsmenship and just finding out if the guy is unfamiliar with the property lines and ,like some of you said, he is out squirrel hunting. He may be a poacher or a father of 3 with no place to hunt or just simply lost or got involved with all of the good sign of deer in the area and not meaning to tresspass. I have a buddy who has a pretty good policy on tresspassers. He will approach them and at first act like he is just asking if the people saw anything or not. Then if he judges them to be honest about what they are doing on his property, he either gives them permission to hunt it or calls the warden with their license plate. As long as they let him know they are there and what they are doing, he doesn't have a problem and he let's them know where he doesn't want them to hunt and where it's okay to hunt and they can sometimes be beneficial in helping you spot buck patterns or culling the doe numbers in a herd or area. A picture says a thousand words, but the observer decides what they want to hear. JMO

I am by no means telling you what to do with your own property. I just like to provoke thought.

Have you ever been in a stand on your property and some idiot come walking thru there that knows they are not supposed to be there? I have and was not very happy about it. Last year some guy tried to tell me that he owned the land I was hunting on til I pulled out written permission and proved him wrong. This has happened to me more time than I can count. Hunting on an old man's land that lives around here and he gave 3 people permission to hunt there. I go in before dark sit down under a cedar and about 2 hours after daylight a doe come walking up the trail and I hear a rifle **** behind me. This guy is 30 feet up in a tree and instead of letting me know he was there he decided to just wait til the deer came in and either run them off or take a shot. Never have I been madder in my life.

None of these being a good excuse as far as I am concerned.

Not familiar with the property lines...(first time I have ever heard that)

The father of three thing... go hunt public land

Lost - GPS

Accidentally trespassed because of good deer sign? -I doubt accidental, but I don't doubt "all the good deer sign"

Maybe I am kind of cold about it, but too bad. I don't do these things and don't expect them done to me. Hope you catch him and prosecute him...no matter how great of an excuse he provides.

Re: Caught a tresspasser

As a matter of fact I have it done to me every year. I mainly hunt public land where I have People on horseback yelling for dogs in field trial training, people scouting during hunting hours, evan people on 4 wheelers that are not supposed to be there and people bird watching. So yes I have it happen to me all of the time. But you weren't hunting in this photo which is what I was addressing, and I have even had my buddies neighbor let his neighbor's dogs run on his property where he and I are both hunting as well as last years surprise when he decided to shoot black birds for fun while we were on stand. See, you aren't the only one who has to deal with it. Stop being so self righteous because you own land and realize that everyone goes through it not just the poor land owners. Besides, I was just asking that you think about it. We are all hunters no matter what weapon we choose and I completely disagree with tresspassing. I just thought it would make a nice conversation. The attitude we give is often the attitude we recieve. By the way, not once did my buddy bad mouth his neighbor or say anything to him. The guy apologized because he didn't know we were out there and only found out when he saw us using flashlights to head back to the house.
